There are two types of overtraining

1️⃣ Sympathetic Overtraining Syndrome

This is intensity driven and more common in strength/ power athletes.

High epinephrine and cortisol.

Chronically high stress.

2️⃣ Parasympathetic Overtraining Syndrome

This is volume driven and more common in endurance athletes.

Low epinephrine, decreases resting heart rate.

But they can't produce adrenaline.

Both are associated with negative performance and psychological outcomes.
