This is a MELEE Magicka Templar Build and Iron Atronach Parse for the Greymoor Chapter (originally recorded for Harrowstorm Patch). This type of setup is mainly optimised for 12-man trial content but can be adjusted for other types of PVE content too.
The parse and much of the information is provided by Nymzy, who is has been a Magicka Templar main since the start of the game. If you've already seen his Magplar stuff from Harrowstorm, then here is another new POV.
Alternative Vampire Spammable setup: youtu.be/AfeY2Wot_xQ
Why Sweeps? It's been good ever since the animation change (same as Stamplar). Great for self-heals, activating the tanky spear wall passive, a bit of cleave DPS, burning light procs and lower magicka drain vs Elemental Weapon or Force Pulse etc.

Gear:
The highest DPS gear setup in trials would be Siroria + Mother's Sorrow. False God + Mother's Sorrow is a good alternative and Master Architect + Mother's Sorrow can work if you need to provide Major Slayer.
Zaan is the preferred monster set to use. In content where it's not suitable, consider 2x Spell Crit or Grundwulf for extra sustain
Race:
Altmer/Dunmer (for max damage potential) or Breton (for better sustain and survivability).
Mundus:
Shadow
Food:
In raid, use:
- Max Magicka, Max HP - Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl
- Max Magicka, Max HP, Magicka Recovery - Clockwork Citrus Fillet, if sustain isn't good
For practice on Dummy, use:
- Max Magicka, Magicka Recovery - Ghastly Eye Bowl
Blue CP - do adjust based on your group's Spell Penetration, but something along the lines of:
56 Elemental Expert, 61 Elfbon, 11 Spell Erosion
56 Master-at-Arms, 11 Staff Expert
72 Thaumaturge, 3 Piercing

From Nymzy:
The changes to the duration of sweeps and jabs motivated me to make a rotation with them and it feels just like the good old days. People who have played Stamplar in the last 2 patches will easily get the hang of the weaving but for others, it's quite an adjustment compared to Force Pulse or Elemental Weapon spam.
Since the actual duration of sweeps is 0.92 seconds, you have a 0.08-second window of doing your light attack which is hard but possible to do with an addon like GlobalCooldownBar (SPELLING)
I chose to make it a static rotation because after learning them it requires no brainpower - allowing for more focus on whatever content and mechanics you are doing.
Going all-dynamic is going to result in only a very small DPS gain since the only pinpoints are 2 seconds downtime on Barbed Trap and Degeneration being overcast by 3 seconds every other rotation.
In a trial, Degeneration should be replaced by Mystic Orb, which is a stronger and shorter DOT (both for Single Target and AOE) and it lines up better with the rotation.
Execute (which we start at 30% HP) however is dynamic because it matters the most there. There is are vert few DOTs to keep up during execute so it should be easy to learn if you have any skill timer addons installed.
Static Rotation - imgur.com/a/G39nU6N :
Start:
- Channelled Focus - Trap - Meteor - Purifying Light
- Shard - Wall - Degen
- Solar Barrage - Sweeps - Purifying Light - 4x Sweeps
Repeat:
- Shard - Wall - Degen - Purifying Light - Trap - Solar Barrage - Channelled Focus - 2x Sweeps - Purifying Light
- Shard - Wall - Degen - Crescent Sweep (Ulti) - Solar Barrage - Purifying Light - 4x Sweeps
Proposed Static Execute would start at 25%, and should be:
Shards - Wall - Trap/Crescent Sweep
Purifying Light - 3x Beam
Orbs instead of Degeneration in a raid
Alternative skills:
Destro Ultimate instead of Crescent Sweep if you desire more burst.
Channelled Acceleration instead of Barbed Trap (even though you will be melee, having a longer minor force buff can allow for more damage because it doesn't have to be recast during DPS phases (vCR, vAS))
Ritual of Retribution - common substitute skill for Solar Barrage when more AOE DPS is desired or the group needs another heal, cleanse or synergy.
Self Heal / Shield - playing with Sweeps should give you semi-god-mode, but if you do need either of these, then replace Inner Light on the front bar, or sacrifice Channelled Focus on backbar but wear Grundwulf to make up for the loss in sustain.

![ESO - Stamina Dragonknight vMA Dagger PVE Build (103k+) - Scalebreaker
Here we have a Stamina Dragonknight vMA Dual Wield PVE build and Iron Atronach Parse for the Scalebreaker patch.
There have been loads of changes across the board for combat in ESO. I would recommend you to read the relevant patch notes.
This is the main important one; very relevant to this video and rotation:
The bonus spell/weapon damage from the Maelstrom Dual Wield is now set at 1000 (previously 2003). However, this bonus will apply to qualifying DOTs cast within 4 seconds of the bonus being applied, rather than being consumed by only the next DOT. This means we can use Rapid Strikes, then apply up to 3 DOTs in succession (for example Rending then Consuming Trap then Barbed Trap).
I am using the Max Stam/Stam Regen food, with 64 points into Stamina for all Stamina Setups in these rotations. This is simply for comparison purposes in this test environment.
Stamina Dragonknight has certainly benefitted from the changes in Scalebreaker. A few class buffs and the direction towards stronger single target DOTs have made, in my opinion, the Stamina Dragonknight a really fun class to play again, if you didnt already enjoy it. The Stam DK has two class abilities which are able to be empowered by the vMA daggers. No other Stamina class can claim to have even one extra.
Gear:
5x Lokkestiiz Body, 5x Relequen Body, 1x vMA Axe, 1x vMA Dagger, 1x Masters Bow. (See build screenshot for full details).
CMX Parse - https://i.imgur.com/ZQR3muA.png
CMX Build Screenshot (Skillbars, Gear, CPs) - https://i.imgur.com/NoxGO0U.png
Rotation
This is probably my favourite rotation out of all classes when it comes to using the vMA daggers.
This rotation is a fairly simple one. It is a 10-second rotation because Arrow Barrage, Poison Injection, Rending Slashes and Consuming Trap are each 10 seconds long. Noxious Breath and Venomous Claw are 12-seconds long, so you could probably also make a case to do a 12-second rotation with Endless Hail instead.
Cruel Flurry actively affects Rending Slashes, Consuming/Soul Splitting Trap, Barbed Trap, Poison Injection, Venomous Claw and Noxious Breath.
The minimum backbar rotation is: Arrow Barrage - Poison Injection. Roughly every other rotation, you would also cast Barbed Trap. Flames of Oblivion can also be recast every other rotation, or, as I prefer, just whenever is convenient, even if I am halfway through my frontbar rotation.
On the front bar, I have a few variations that I like to use. If, for example, I cast Flames of Oblivion or my Ultimate in the previous rotation, I would most likely do Rapid Strikes - Rending - Consuming Trap - Venomous Claw - Noxious Breath - Rapid Strikes. This means I will not empower Noxious Breath, which is ok, because its the weakest DOT, yet allow me to empower Poison Injection (and Trap) on the following backbar rotation. If I have more time, then I might either do Rapids - Rending - Consuming - Venomous - Rapids - Noxious - Rapids, Or Rapids - Rending - Consuming - Rapids - Venomous - Noxious - Rapids. Both have a similar outcome, though the second one may allow you to gain an extra tick of Venomous.
Nothing much changes in execute, just keep going. On your last rotation, if you know you wont get great value out of recasting DOTs, then keep spamming Rapid Strikes until the end!
On the backbar, you have a flex spot where I put Ring of Preservation in the video.
Proposed Static Rotation:
Start
Flames of Oblivion (FOO) - Barbed Trap
Arrow Barrage - Poison Injection - Barbed Trap/FOO (alternate it each time, skip it the first time)
Rapids - Rending - Soul Trap - Rapids - Venomous Claw - Noxious Breath - Rapids
Skip the middle rapids if you use your ultimate.
Thats StamDK with vMA daggers. Any questions? Let me know in the comments!

![ESO - Stam Warden vs Stamblade; a Direct Comparison - See Description - Murkmire PTS 4.2.0
Note: This is testing done on the PTS server so there might be changes every week, up until the official release, which is probably in 4-5 weeks or so. Ill try to update this if there is a large change.
Recently I uploaded a video in which I suggested that Stamina Warden could directly match the Stamina Nightblade in Single Target DPS (seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKsfSM1H4x0). But for many, I guess it is also hard to believe since Stamblade has been the meta for so long. We thought it would be informative to directly compare the two classes. The AOE potential of a Stamina Warden is quite likely to be higher than of the Stamina Nightblade, which is more reasonable to accept.
For each test, we had the Stamblade on 3 Bloodthirsty Jewelry Traits as a control variable - under the assumption that this combination is really good and makes the most of the Stamblades execute phase. The Stamina Warden had varying traits for each test. The goal was to see the interaction between trait and DPS, and possibly find the best combination for both for the fastest fight. The gear worn by both players were identical, including traits and enchants of weapons, and we also ensured to expend roughly same amount of Stamina for each fight - ending the fight with around 40-60% sustain since we are in Lava Food (sustain is pretty even for both classes in this PTS version compared to live).

I am playing as the Stamina Warden, and fellow Hodor/former Xbox EU scrub, Seb (@Web_Silliams), is playing as the Stamina Nightblade (he is definitely one of the best). His channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCURCVgzTNBdYATKza8KOvnQ

As you can see, the two classes are pretty even
The less Bloodthirsty used by the Stamina Warden, the longer the execute phase. This could play a role in the reason behind the Stamblades higher DPS with less Bloodthirsty used by the Stamina Warden. Its probably hard to make definitive conclusions based on these tests since we only did one of each, but it seems to confirm that youll get more group DPS with a Stamina Warden using 1 Bloodthirsty (We didnt test 2 Bloodthirsty, but this would also be pretty good). Of course there is a small degree of human error involved since we both have a pretty bad connection to the PTS, and in the end, the difference in traits is so small, that it wouldnt be fair to make definitive conclusions from this.
As a side note, we also did one test where I used Ballista on the Stamina Warden - it was around 1-2k DPS less than the Bear, so thankfully the Warden is pretty viable even without the bear.
Stamina Warden and Stamina Nightblade are both in a really good spot now. The Stamina Nightblade is not miles better than other classes anymore, both in terms of sustain and damage, which is really nice. Hopefully, other Stamina classes will prove to be just as viable as these two, by the time Murkmire is officially released.

![Vengeful. - Magicka Warden PVE (87k) - Harrowstorm - ESO
Edit 24th Feb: Filmed in Dragonhold but updated for Harrowstorm. Not much has changed - sustain is better, but this is the main one: Glacial Presence: This passive now also increases your Critical Damage against enemies and Critical Healing against allies who have been recently afflicted with the Chilled status effect. Expect BETTER DPS from Magicka Warden in Harrowstorm!
This is a Magicka Warden PVE build and Iron Atronach Parse for the Dragonhold/Harrowstorm patch.
Magicka Warden offers more utility than ever before in Dragonhold, which makes them more useful than ever before (if there is no Warden support player in the group, at least). The Screaming Cliff Racer can set the enemy off-balance and Fetcher Infection will now apply Minor Vulnerability. Winters Revenge now becomes one of the strongest AOEs in the game. The Bear also remains one of the strongest ultimate in the game for sustained damage, but again it leaves the class very reliant on it.
This rotation was performed by @stileanima. Check out her channel, especially for Healing and End-game raiding content.
YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0ZrF6282tJGZboWa2IwCHg
I am using the Max Magicka/Magicka Regen food, with 64 points into Magicka for all Magicka Setups in these rotations.
Gear used here:
5x Mothers Sorrow Body, 5x Siroria front-barred, 2x Zaan. (See build screenshot for full details).
The above is used simply for purposes of comparison against other classes, in this test environment.
Race used: Altmer
Good alternatives: Breton, Dunmer, Khajiit
In real raid situations, consider Clockwork Citrus Fillet or Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl as food alternatives.
Other gear that is perfectly suitable for different situations include:
False God, Spell Strategist, New Moon Acolyte, Master Architect
CMX Parse, Build (Gear, Skills, CPs), Superstar from Video https://imgur.com/a/ZMI8uyF
Rotation:
This rotation is all about getting the best blend of direct damage and damage over time. Here we choose to keep up Unstable Wall, Winters Revenge, Scalding Rune, Barbed Trap, Fetcher Infection and Degeneration for our DOTs. Then we fit in as much Deep Fissure and Screaming Cliff Racer (Birbs) as possible.
Here @stileanima chooses to cast Deep Fissure more or less 1-in-3 casts. Seeing as I am describing a dynamic rotation here I shall say that generally, in-between, there is a cast of a DOT, of which Unstable Wall and Winters Revenge hold the highest priority. Fetcher Infection is generally the next strongest, then really whatever else needs refreshing from the skills listed above. Throw the Birbs whenever there is nothing else that needs casting. Use the Bear Ultimate as soon as convenient.
If you notice that many DOTs run out at the same time, feel free to cast them consecutively, and skipping a Deep Fissure cast. In previous patches, Ive noticed that casting Deep Fissure 1-in-4 is not too different than 1-in-3 if it means a better uptime in DOTs. There can also the occurence that your Deep Fissure damage does not hit if you try 1-in-3 with slight mistimings just so you know.
Proposed Static Rotation
Start:
Netch - Trap
Repeat:
Shalk - Wall - Winter
Shalk - Fetcher - Degeneration
Shalk - Scalding - Spam - Spam/Netch/Trap (Alternate Netch and Trap, if sustain is good, use a Spam)
Spam = Birb or Bear Ulti
About alternative skills that I did not use in this video:
Mystic Orb - a must-have skill if you want to include more AOE damage into your setup. Upsides also include a nice group synergy, but the downside is the high resource cost.
Inner Light (front-barred) - if you want a simpler rotation, you could drop one of the DOTs (for example Degeneration) and include Inner Light on the front bar.
Elemental Blockade - using this morph instead of Unstable Wall can also be a decent option. This option offers more cleave allows slightly better sustain by allowing you to cast this skill less frequently, and more so other cheaper skills.
Consuming Trap - a DOT that can help sustain if used in trash fights or on smaller mobs in Boss Fights, due to the resource return.
Channeled Acceleration - if you prefer this over Barbed Trap, this is fine. Magicka sustain will suffer a little but might be easier to use in some cases.
Flame Reach - if you wanted to add another single-target DOT. Provides some extra sources of Burning damage and cost is relatively cheap, but the damage isnt as good as some other options.

A fight from 2nd Boss in vHOF, sort of close to perfect but not quite, from a team perspective. Since I was the only Magicka DD that stayed downstairs the whole time, it was my role to kill the conduits (with a little help from others). Pretty bad conduit RNG in this fight, sometimes it spawns right underneath the boss, sometimes on the other side of the map (it was the case every time in this fight).
Id imagine the top groups will soon change the way they do this boss during this patch.
I didnt manage to save this exact parse, but I have a Combat Metrics Parse from a different fight where I do the same role (60.4k/53.3k) - https://i.imgur.com/itkVVoL.png
