Hey its me again, ESO's biggest magplar fanboy. So... I got bored 1 night and decided to test some stuff like different cp's (investing more in thaumaturge instead of master at arms) and trying out some different abilities all for the sake of trying to improve my build. On top of that I decided that it was time to transmute my perfected Siroria for dummy humping purposes to truly see what the limits are.
With this video i hope to attract more magplars since I dont see them that often anymore :(.... ye Im looking at you magdk players. Magplar is still in a great spot with impressive aoe and execute damage and with a spammable like puncturing sweeps it allows new players to be extremely survivable without having to alter their build for it.
As usual i will explain my rotation: START: channeled focus-trap ~swap meteor-PL ~ swap shard-wall-mystic orb ~swap solarbarrage-1xsweeps-PL-4xsweeps. 2 line static rotation: 1. (for those who used the rotation from the previous video it will be very familiar. All that was changed is i added channeled focus into the rotation at the cost of 1 spammable in first line of the rotation) Visual of the rotation: imgur.com/a/G39nU6N
You will have to heavy attack atleast twice if u use mystic orb on the dummy so do it in the rotation u cast cresent sweep and remove 1 spammable that rotation, it will perfectly line up with offbalance for double resources. Alternatively use an absorb mag enchant at the cost of a little bit of dps. (1k)
On execute around 30% and below keep up all your dots except solarbarrage and start beaming. Around 20% stop casting mystic orb and only keep up shard, wall, trap,PL and beam. When u reach 10% only keep shard-wall-trap and beam up.
For those wondering if i will use Siroria in content, in most cases no. Although there's plenty of bosses that are stack and burn, perfected falsegod will always be my go to set. Well.... this patch atleast :pepega:
I know that some people aren't fans of dummies due to the lack of mechanics present that will affect your actual dps in raids and the over exaggerated major buff uptimes. It's true dummy parses only prove how hard you can hit the dummy. But they are great for testing and practicing purposes.
To give the interested people an idea what to expect in real content i saved some boss parses that i collected over the last few months.
FG+MS+Zaan is the most used setup. The reason is simple it's has the highest damage output for me and probably for you too. Master architect was used in vSS HM because in that group composition I am buffing the other DD's with major slayer, something I usually don't do except when the other players are equally skilled or better and we play for a high score or fast time. Siroria is a good alternative if you can play the siroria game but remember if u lose those juicy stacks you might aswell have used falsegod. I highly suggest you don't run newmoon acolyte aka rip sustain acolyte. It really messes with your resources and the templar sustain is not the best as it is.
I know there's other sets being used and recommended and each to their own.but i truly feel like your potential is limited by some of these sets. But I understand not everyone wants to play what everyone else is playing.

Cheers and have a good one.ESO U35 | Kilt vs. Zaan | Hybrid Necro 122.8k DpsNymzy2022-09-11 | Just a quick comparison between running Zaan and running the Harpooners Wading Kilt.
Optimally you want to run both kilt and Zaan by running a procset on the backbar (Siroria/Whorl/Pillar/Aegis) and sacrificing your arena weapon. The MA greatsword only gives around 2.5k dps where as Zaan gives around 5.5k dps. Roughly a 3k dps gain.
However this is not suited for all content/playstyles hence this comparison.
Both Zaan and Kilt perform within crit rng of eachother but Zaan gave me more consistent numbers where as kilt was more allover the place. If you can't run Zaan (aka 3 year old trial i won't name) definitly go for kilt, unless there is too much direct damage.
Kjalnar does roughly the same damage as Zaan but the cooldown of it's proc is shared among all group members, so only 1 person can run it to make effective use of it.
I personally found that Coral Riptide outperforms Relequen by 1-2k dps when paired with Pillar of Nirn. Kinra on the otherhand worked better with Relequen.
Because of Coral I was bashing a lot to keep my stam low. The damage of the bashing it self is kinda doodoo so don't worry about it for damage.Flames of Ambition - [Console Tested] vAS+2 Magblade POV | 116490 - 3:30Nymzy2021-04-24 | We are currently locked up in Asylum Sanctorium for the remainder of this patch (send help). The dummy has some additional buffs now like major vunerability which increases dps flatout by 10% compared to parses on previous patches. Dps in content should be noticeably lower. I would say the dps roughly transelates to 88-89k in the Stonethorn patch.
I have been parsing for about 20 minutes and it feels kinda clunky compared to previous patches, sweeps animations are skipped and the character bugs out after casting purifying light. I worked around this by bashweaving once in a while to reset my characters animation.
I'm not really sure what the future has in store for the templar but right now it's not in a very competitive spot. Dps is one of the lowest being comparable to magdk. Difference however is that group compositions will always have a place for magdk's because of engulfing flames unlike the templar which very often has no group benefit due to there already being a templar healer.ESO Stonethorn - PVE Magicka Templar Build (90k+)Nymzy2020-08-25 | INFO
Markarth patch: youtu.be/X6lW9vaSWpQ (97k dps) Just a parse with some small info.
Race: High elf Food: Artaeum pickled fishbowl (best) Solitude Salmon-Millet Soup (cheap alternative) Ghastly eye bowl (only for dummy parsing) Potions: Essence of spellpower/Alliance spell draught. Use ultimate regen pots if your DK tank can Guarantee a 100% uptime on molten armaments at any given scenario. (Also a tip, make sure the pots are cp150 in level. There is a lot of ripoffs in guild traders) Mundus: The Shadow Vampire: Make sure to cleanse that asap. otherwise sustain is a joke
Siroria Mother's sorrow is still the highest dps, even in content where u cannot keep up any significant amount of stacks it will still outperform any set combo. The fire enchant on the siroria staff can be replaced with absorb magicka if sustain does not allow you to run siroria.
False god is not worth running unless you have real big sustain issues and sustain is the limiting factor on your dps. Medusa is a pain to sustain on a templar and it is slightly less dps anyway compared to MS War maiden is still a big dps loss to run compared to MS as well.
A good beginner setup would be Mother's sorrow + Medusa but swap medusa out for Siroria asap when you get it. Falsegod is comparable to Medusa damage wise but it blows medusa out of the water sustain wise so i would still opt for that if not running siroria.
Rotation wise we are back to harrowstorm. What changed is the cast time for the templar class ultimate, its absolutely retarded and thanks to it you need to spam bar swap after using it if you plan to bar swap after the ability. Other than that dps got affected by the bloodthirsty nerf, bloodthirsty has a different function now but it's still a nerf compared to the old version. Especially for magplars because of purifying light. purifying light can only do more damage with more max magicka and % damage increases, the old version of bloodthirsty was a % modifier and therefore this skill got increased damage wise in execute as well Now that bloodthirsty gives spell damage, purifying lights damage doesn't gain any benefit from it anymore.
Other than that the increase to the cast time of sweeps was a slight dps nerf for sweeps it self as well as light attacks (longer animation for a skill = less time to do a light attack)ESO - [Console Tested] Godslayer EU Record - 21:58 min - 254977 ScoreNymzy2020-08-24 | Timestamps Lokke: 3:09 (51k St/91.2k Aoe - 4;50.1 Fight time) Yolna: 9:11 (100.6k St/125.1k Aoe - 3;33.9 Fight time) Nahvi: 15:55 (36.3k St/70.6k Aoe - 5;34.5 Fight time) [Portal]
After a billion bugged instances it's finally done. We had a crazy time the last two weeks doing this score push. We didn't get the world record, we were short of 2 seconds on the logs at the making of this video but 4D did get a 20 second improvement in the end on their score, also Stress Tested was very close to taking the world record. Our fastest time could have been 21:30 but two people got their character bugged due to the cat jumps before last boss which required a full re log and there for the run was rip. On the other hand we did get 6 Godslayers in the last two weeks so maybe that is some sort of world record 😏.
The Thrassian stack counter in Hodor reflexes is bugged during this run and is not representing the actual stack count most of the time.
Feel free to ask questions, logs are still private for now but I can probably post them in the future.ESO Greymoor - vAS HM - Immortal Redeemer - 5:18 min - 115348 ScoreNymzy2020-08-20 | Setup: 5x Perfected Falsegod 5x Mothersorrow 2x Maw of the infernal
Got a quick IR leech the other day when I was backing up for this group. normally there is 3 Necro's in this group which significantly speeds up the fight time but the score was still good enough for first spot in the EU leader-boards.
After this clear we tried doing a Felms skip and its definitely possible in this group so they will probably get a 4:30 ish clear in the future especially with the Nightblade buffs next patch since Asylum Sanctorium and Magblades are a match made in heaven.
Personally AS is my least favorite trial due to it being really inconsistent. Tab target is a joke, invisible AOE's from the mini's, slow jumps. invisible jumps. delayed jumps, kite during jumps and so on (zos fix pls). I don't really like to play it and therefore it's my least practiced trial. My performance until 50% was decent, after that I wasted ults on immunity phases and played too save looking back at it. A lot of damage was left on the table. (Maybe im lying a bit. Sanctum Ophidia is worse than this, It's comparable to those scissor packed in plastic for which you actually need those scissor to open the f*cking packaging)
I am still doing the vSS scorepush right now, I have got a few godslayers recorded but am still hoping for a better time and score, currently Console tested (my guild) has still the EU top rank but Stress Tested is getting really close to beating us. We mostly raid after 19:00 CEST and that's also the point when instance based activities in ESO start malfunctioning, adds ignoring taunts, skills not being cast, adds not being able to be pulled in and its costing quite a lot of time. But with a little luck with server performance we should be getting a 22:00 ish time.ESO Greymoor - Nahviintaas HM - Godslayer - 24:26 min - 251386 ScoreNymzy2020-07-24 | Third Degree Gurns has finally lifted their curse and achieved another godslayer in a very respectable time (currently fastest in EU. Edit: not anymore ). This video only contains last boss as the other two bosses are already on my channel. Keep in mind that this is not the score pushing group that I'm also running with, for that I will make a separate video displaying the full run including trash fights and what not.
For the people that don't have a lot of experience with this boss, the idea is that you push the boss in a reasonably fast time to prevent the soul tear from happening and absolutely delete the trash that comes after that to buy the portal dd's some time to safely come up. If you do this extremely fast u can also skip a portal completely which we did in this clear. You skip a portal by making the next set of portals spawn while the portal dd's are still in the old portal. Other than that this boss is pretty straight forward as there is not a lot of RNG in this fight.
Enjoy the video and if u have any question you can let me know.ESO Greymoor - Lord Falgravn HM - Dawnbringer - 21:15 min - 240130 Score - No ThrasshiansNymzy2020-07-19 | We finally got Dawnbringer in a couple of weeks of progression. The group has decided to stop vKA for now due to the upcoming nerfs. We are going for a score push in vSS, most likely EU record but maybe we have a chance to beat 4D 😄. The reason being that every record from this patch will be untouchable for at least a year until they pull off another stunt like thrassian stranglers. So expect more vSS videos in the coming weeks.ESO Stonethorn - Magblade PTS Week 1 90.9k - In loving memory of Magplar, Magden and MagdkNymzy2020-07-18 | After more practice and some crit farming: imgur.com/a/Z9KzMAC (arterial burst is around the same dps as ele weapon but sustain is better)
So I tried to play a magblade for the first time today since it looks like the most promising class next patch due to it being the only class receiving some buffs to compensate the nerfs. Magblades have been in a good place in the last few patches but will really shine with the upcoming sustain nerfs (sustain sets being nerfed as well as blood for blood being a thing of the past).
I have kept the old meta sets for comparison purposes but this new medusa set seems very interesting and might need some further testing.
We will most likely see a Siroria + Mothersorrow/Medusa meta (yes siroria in trials) due to a small nerf to falsegod and Siroria building stacks faster. Jewelry is a weird topic to talk about, normaly it would be 3x bloodthirsty but due to the nerf to bloodthirsty infused comes out on top in most scenarios, even for execute classes. I would say BT is worth it in long fights where you are below 50% health for more than 40-50% of the entire fight time, depending on the class. This is a bit of an educated guess though.
I have obviously done some testing on my main as well, and the magplar isn't looking very pretty if i'm honest. Cresent sweep must be front barred now due to the cast time they added to it. so we lose our mages guild meteor passive. The strongest templar dot, purifyinglight doesn't scale with bloodthirsty anymore because that now gives spell damage and is not a % increase making us lose damage as well. the cast time increase to sweeps is by some believed as a good improvement because it makes weaving it move fluid however for me it makes no difference really, what does make a difference however is that your light attack will always be outside the globalcooldown of your sweeps making us lose light attack damage, a 15% damage loss compared to previous patches. Due to the sustain nerf we will need to slot rune focus again making us lose 1 globalcooldown to a non damage skill. I have yet to hit above 85k with the magplar, pts lagg is playing a role ofcourse but it will probably not exceed 87-88k on live giving the class a 7k dps loss compared to how it is now.
I have not tested magdk, magcro and magden yet but from what i have heard, magcro will be decent suffering a minimal loss. magdk will have an extremely hard time sustaining and magden is dead again like it was before greymoor, also due to sustain reasons.
I am in no way shape or form an experienced combat dev but I think at the very least that classes should be able to sustain their own class kit. This is still PTS week 1 so there is hope for a change, however from my experience it never changes a lot from what was originally intended.ESO Greymoor - Yandir the Butcher HM - No Thrassians (1:56 min fight time)Nymzy2020-07-13 | We have made a lot of progression recently in our clear times. So far we have done a 35/36 run (someone who will not be named died to fall damage before second boss) in 21:42 min while wasting around 20 seconds before second boss deciding to reset or not. Our magDK is not running a monsterhelm right now because he doesn't have a zen inferno and our estimation is that if we do small optimizations we can go below 21 minutes. we still have around 40 seconds to win at last boss due to safe strategies but we will most likely not change that for this Dawnbringer progression. We are still not using thrassians but the majority of us have switched to an offensive monsterset instead of iceheart.
Something notable about this fight is that we don't have the gryphon spawn in at 60% because we nuke the sea adder before it can enrage, we are doing this very consistently without thrassians. Skipping the Gryphon greatly decreases the fight time and should definitely be aimed for if you plan on getting fast times.ESO Greymoor - Captain Vrol HM - No Thrassians (1:45 min fight time)Nymzy2020-07-04 | This was our 5th raid day as a group. We are currently progressing the vKA tripple without thrassians while using pretty safe setups like iceheart to get the achievement asap.
So far we have achieved a 31/36 run (all deaths on lastboss) with a 23:50 min time. We are certain we can get a 23:00 - 22:30 time without thrassians while using iceheart and in the future, after our first tripple we will swap to more risky setups to get closer to a 20-21 time.

Unfortunately it wasn't a 100k parse. I casted my dots in the first phase right before the dragon flew which is a waste and cost me a bit of dps. The crit RNG was not really in my favor aswell, with average crit I'm convinced it would have been a 100k. But maybe I will get it in the future, who knows. Currently server performance is starting to decline and as a result abilities, especially ground AOE's don't always cast properly hence I'm doing a slightly different rotation to ensure the shards are going off.

There is nothing special about this video performance wise, it was a mediocre run partially due to the many replacements we had. The reason I decided to upload this footage is because my big brain forgot to put the proper cp's for Sunspire. Im running 0 spellshield and 7 quick recovery here so im hardly mitigating the damage as I should. Lokke HM has arguably the highest incoming damage for DD's out of any other fight, with vKA hm execute as an exception. Regardless of this I survived perfectly fine with 10-20 thrassian stacks while spamming blood for blood. Proving that they are both safe to use even if combined although sometimes small sacrifices have to be made like slotting a shield.
Whether or not you can use Thrassians depends on your confidence and competence in whatever content you do. The same goes for sets like Siroria. Blood for blood should be fine regardless and you should definitely try both of them out for your self.

This is my rotation for the magplar in Dragonhold its exactly the same for Harrowstorm but due to the decrease in cost of spear and wall you could actually swap out the absorb mag glyph for a berserker enchant.
from 25% and below: 1. Shard-wall-trap or sweep ulti ~swap PL- 3x beam-PL. 2. Shard-wall-trap or sweep ulti ~swap beam-PL - 2x beam.
feel free to swap out the sweeps for ele weapon or forcepulse (make sure u switch shards to the frontbar for the passives when you do this) but sweeps have gotten me the best results, just remember that sweeps actually is 0.9 seconds and the animation is 1.5 seconds therefor ignore the animation and try to get the rythm of 0.9 seconds (If you play on pc install the addon "global cooldown bar" it will help you cast the sweeps on cooldown by showing a progress bar of when its able to be cast again
if you want to play this without spellpower pots make sure to cast degen in execute but only for the major sorcery so every other rotation. overall this would mean a 1k dps loss at most.
for those who are wondering if the bash weaving is required, it isn't it only added about 900 dps.
For people who are not used to harder rotations 1 line static rotation shard-wall-solar- trap or sweep ulti ~swap PL-degen 4xsweeps
