This is an example of swinging movements (or Suburi) using a 4kg Gada (mace), 3kg Furibo (also known as a Kanabo, Tetsubo or Suburito) and a 1kg Jo (staff).
Although these all have different weight and balance, the mechanics of the movement are pretty much the same. The heavier weight essentially amplifies mistakes that may occur with the lighter weighted objects.
The aim of the exercise is to connect and swing an object using whole body movement rather than just arms.
