On today's episode, we chat with Amanda White, licensed therapist and the creator of the popular Instagram account and Tiktok @therapyforwomen, about the intersection of substance use and eating disorder recovery. The use of substances, specifically alcohol and marijuana, comes up quite frequently in my coaching with clients who struggle with binge eating. I loved this conversation with Amanda to talk more about the nuances of recovery when substances may be triggering episodes of binge eating.
Amanda is in recovery from an addiction and eating disorder and in her clinical work, Amanda specializes in supporting clients in the overlap and intersection of both. She is the founder of "Therapy for Women Center" located in Philadelphia and serving clients across the country.

![Is Intuitive Eating a Free-For-All? [Impulse Eating vs Intuitive Eating]
If trying to eat intuitively leaves you out of control bingeing, youre likely not eating intuitively but rather eating impulsively. When I work with clients who are healing their relationship with food and overcoming binge eating, it can be hard to just listen to their body at first. In todays video I am going to discuss the dynamic interplay between instinct, feeling, and rational thought when it comes to eating intuitively and healing from binge eating.
