In this Subnautica 2 tutorial, I show you where to find the 2 new free-to-use Biolabs added in the Subnautica 2 EA Patch 1.1 Adaptive Measures update. These new Biolab locations help you unlock newer and better Biomods, improve Biomod progression, and work toward unlocking more passive Biomod slots as you explore and scan creatures with the Bioscanner.
The first new Biolab is located inside the ruins of Camp One. To reach it, head to Camp One and go into the room that you have to manually flood. Once the room is flooded and accessible, you can use the Biolab there to continue your Biomod progression. This is one of the earlier new Biolab locations and is useful if you are trying to unlock more Biomod options without pushing too far into later-game areas.
The second new Biolab is located much later in the game at the Research Outpost near the Alien Ruins waypoint. To find it, go to the very back observation room of the Research Outpost. This Biolab is easy to miss if you are not checking every room, and it helps to bring a battery with you so you can power the base first and access the area more easily.
These new Subnautica 2 Biolabs are important because Patch 1.1 changed Biomod progression and added more opportunities to unlock and use the Biomod system. Players can now unlock more Biomods from Biolabs, and passive Biomod slots can be unlocked by scanning creatures with the Bioscanner. So if you want better survivability, stronger passive effects, improved exploration options, and a smoother early access progression path, these Biolabs are worth finding.
This guide shows both new Biolab locations, including the Camp One Biolab in the manually flooded room and the Research Outpost Biolab near the Alien Ruins waypoint. I also explain why these new Biolabs matter for unlocking better Biomods, expanding your passive Biomod slots, and progressing through Subnautica 2 after the Adaptive Measures update.
If you are trying to find every Biolab in Subnautica 2, unlock all Biomods, improve your Biomod build, find the Camp One Biolab, reach the Research Outpost Biolab, use the Bioscanner, or understand what changed with Biomod progression in EA Patch 1.1, this video will show you where to go.
Thanks for watching.
