Hunt the Goldie to start with, and me with a Hydra Splatling. Oh, the pressure to perform! I charge my weapon, set myself, and, well, spank the Goldie quite nicely on the first pass. And the second. The basket is stuffed with eggs already. The third pass is less profitable, as the Goldie doesn't come close, but a bit of patience has it come back. We could have got even more eggs too, but I get smacked up by Chum, which can happen. Still, it's a good tally of eggs, and a nice start to the Run.
An N-ZAP '85 is a fun weapon, and lets me ink a few more walls before the salmonids roll in behind the fog. I'm lucky to be pointing in the right direction to see where a Big Shot is launching from, and help out there, before heading back to the basket where a semi-stuffed Goldie is wandering past. I dodge a Maws, with a bit of effort, but not a Smallfry. Another squidmate is splatted, and another succumbs moments later. Still, we have one left, I'm sure we'll be fine. And we are. I get back to cramming eggs in to the basket, and a new Big Shot starts firing again. I try to use a Killer Wail against the Big Shot, but a Goldie gets in the way. Never mind, I use my second Killer Wail when I look to get boxed in, but I think I also kinda panic and think it's the third wave. It's fine.
The final wave sends us down to the shore, as the tide goes out, and I get a Blaster. It'll do. I take my responsibility seriously and engage a Stinger, which is a little difficult to reach. Normally I'd get splatted, but somehow I get out unscathed, which is nice. I nearly get chomped by a Steel Eel, but I run away quite effectively, and get some height on a Lid. I don't really help out with a Fish Finger by the basket, but I grab a couple of eggs from it, and watch as more get flown away by Snatchers. It looks bad, but there are loads lying around and I'm having trouble dunking them. I swap sides and try to throw some more, getting very confused and splatting Snatchers that would actually help us, which is a bit embarrassing. But we get quota easily, and I get smacked in to the water. Fair enough.
But it's not over! Joe is inkoming. Low tide should give us some room to manoeuvre too. We have Lids to start with, and I get a bit caught up with them, and don't really do much for a while. My Sloshing Machine doesn't help against Stingers either, but hopefully dragging Joe their way helps with them. I still find myself mostly scratching Joe for a while, but then he's moved again, and I have eggs and a line-of-sight. I throw a good bunch of eggs Joe's way, right at his red spot, before Smallfry catch up with me and my Sloshing Machine that can't splat them quickly, and I'm splatted. But so is Joe, nearly. I'm revived just in time to help with that last little bit of damage, and Joe is splatted! Woomy!

Its getting foggy. Its kinda comforting. Except for the ominous music, and sounds of salmonids coming closer. But I have a Bloblobber to deal with them. And Splat Bombs, for the Maws. A stuffed Goldie is brought to the basket, which is nice, but a couple of Fish Fingers make it difficult to work. Theyre splatted soon enough, and we can dunk some eggs, if not for the Drizzlers that need splatting. Another Goldie only has one egg, which is kinda sad, but other bosses are wandering around with their own, and we get plenty in to the basket before the wave ends. That was surprisingly straightforward, for normal tide, without too many pesky distant bosses.
Its a normal wave next, and the first boss flops easily enough. Bouncing an egg of the tiniest wall is unfortunate, but I think we have time to hit quota still. I see my squidmates over on the other side, so I move to splat the Flyfish on my side, only to throw the Splat Bomb right between both bins. That then gets me splatted on top of a Lid. The first wave went smoother than this. I recover and start to get some eggs in the basket, but zooming off to splat a Stinger doesnt work so well when it is targeting me, and I dont have much sideways movement. I flail for a bit, not sure what to shoot, so bring down a Lid near a Steel Eel, but not on to a Steel Eel, which surrounds me and I have nowhere to go. Another splatting. This second wave is a disaster for me. I try to make up for it in the final seconds by dunking as many eggs as I can, which makes me feel a bit better.
The final wave sends us down to the shore for a Cohock rush. I grab a cannon, despite having the Dynamo Roller, because I like the cannons. All goes swimmingly for a bit, but a decent hit on a distant Stinger leaves one pan standing, which then tries to sting me, and in trying to get away from that I drop on to a Big Shots shot. At least a squidmate notices and I am quickly revived and back in the cannon. I then do quite badly at shooting around a Steel Eel, hitting its inky wall instead, wasting a ton of ink, and causing me to abandon cannon for a while. It seems to work out, and we need some eggs anyway, which we just about manage, and I finish off squishing as many Cohocks as I have ink for. Jobs a good un.
But were not finished, as Joe pays us a visit. I try to work out where I should be, get it wrong, and reposition, but on Joes second lunge we have eggs aplenty to throw at his red spot. Its a bit more awkward next, but I stop a Snatcher stealing some eggs, and in reaching the red spot I find a squidmate forlornly hoping to be revived, which I help them with. I have so many eggs around me on the next Joe eruption, but no sight of the spot, so I just throw them as body shots. Its not great, but its something. Joes a bit distant next, but not so far I cant hit the red spot, and by now hes looking pretty inky. One more lunge and hes a goner. Woomy!")

Its the modified Rainmaker challenge! And Im not really picking up the Rainmaker this time. But thats okay, I have the Wellstring to have fun with. It can throw a lot of ink at the Rainmaker shield, which is good, but apparently so can the yellow team. Thankfully, a squidmate gets a splat, taking some pressure off the shield, and we finally burst it, gifting me my own splat.
A squidmate gets us close to the checkpoint, where inky pressure from the side threatens to stop us picking up the Rainmaker again. An opportunistic shots finds the source of that pressure, relieving it, and with some more covering shots we manage to hit the checkpoint, just as the Slosher hits me. So it goes.
I return to see the Slosher coming my way again, this time stopping them early, and the Stamper behind them is more focussed on the Rainmaker than me, which is good. But the yellow team recover the Rainmaker, and its modified blast comes my way. I dodge back and to the side, where I try to clear a path for my squidmates, pushing forwards with the Rainmaker now, and adding a Wave Breaker to the mix. I should probably get closer, though.
I take the safer route up to the yellow ledge, along the ink rail, and grab a drink, just as the Rainmaker is dunked. I guess my squidmates didnt need me for that final push after all. Woomy!")

A little foray down the middle finds an early splat, but not a second, and I run away and hide a bit. I ink the flank, partly as a distraction, then try an Inkjet. Nope, still not great at it. But pushing up stops a yellow power clam, which is good. I go back to hiding, and spot an inkling down the side. I push up and splat them, but my continued movement is easy for the Nautilus to spot. I return to another inkling down the same side, but this one is the Inkbrush and they run away from me easily. I think they aim their Killer Wail at me too, which I have to dodge, and then a second comes in, which I also have to dodge. It all seems a bit much.
I go back to hiding, poking my nose out to try to get a splat here or there, but not managing it. My squidmates do better, and there looks to be an opportunity to move forwards. I give it a go, and get close to the basket, but withdraw as I fail to slosh anyone, finding clams to make a power clam as I do. I move forwards again, climbing the pagoda, but dropping down to get in range of the basket has my throwing arm blocked, and I whiff. Never mind, in to an Inkjet, and I bag a couple of splats somehow, as my squidmates sort things out and score the clam I dropped, and a second power clam. Nice! Im splatted shortly after landing, but another squidmate prioritises scoring a third power clam over splatting, giving us a big lead.
I return to help with juggling a power clam to keep it alive, but after working my way around the side, getting a couple of flanking splats, the clam disintegrates. Never mind. We gain some turf with those splats, and threaten to get close to the basket. I get on the pagoda, bag another splat, and launch a less successful Inkjet, but one that maybe opens an opportunity for a squidmate to score. I score a couple of little clams before running around slightly confused, and bumping in to the Splattershot Nova when I get back to the basket.
Back on the pagoda I can see the need for some defence. I retreat, in to the path of the super-jumping Splattershot Nova, and its good to see that my squidmates are on top of this already. Or were. The yellow ink is flying, and Im getting caught in it, so I launch another Inkjet to try to get out of trouble, and bag a decent splat from it, helping our barrier stay intact. We stay on the defensive as the yellow team, time running out, keep the push going. I get above and then behind the yellow push, getting a nice couple of splats and also an accidental power clam, and just as the Splattershot Nova is splatted for a Wipeout, the battle is won. Woomy!")

Its All-Grizzco weapons this weekend, so I made a plan to get to Profreshional 999. Its going well! Ive had some good rando squidmates, not dropped many points, and dont have far to go. Now I have the help of two squidmates from my Discord server, and another decent rando whos sticking with us for the ride.
The walls get inked early, which is good, and a Flyfish poses no problems, as it shouldnt. Im threatened by a Stinger, and as I have a Blaster I go to splat it myself, sensibly heading around the edges to do so. Then its helping with eggs in a quiet moment. The moments dont stay quiet, though, and its back to splatting bosses balanced with collecting eggs. It gets so important to do both at the same time at the high levels. In the end, its a pretty straightforward first wave, with a decent tally at the end of it.
The second wave starts with a Big Shot, and my getting spooned in to the water. Not a great beginning, but Im revived quickly and am back at the basket dunking eggs and splatting a Steelhead. But I am jumping a Big Shots ripple, so its back to the shore where my Stringer splats the Big Shot easily. And another. And I bring down a Lid. And a Stinger, and help with another Stinger, and a Flipper is there, and Maws, and Steel Eel. It can be so easy to get stuck next to the Big Shot cannon, so I make my excuses and run away, knowing we still need eggs. There are some by the basket, and more are made, and even with a lot going on, we manage to cram a bunch in.
One wave to go, and we have two squids having a lot of fun with the Roller. Im stuck with the Charger, which used to feel a lot more powerful, but Im sure itll be fine. At least I can splat a Big Shot from a distance, but still nowhere near as quickly as the Roller can just squish it. I leave the Roller to it to go and dunk eggs, but I cant just do that. There are bosses to splat! I have to remember that the Charger isnt great at splatting Fish Fingers, and I waste too much time on one of them. Never mind, once done, I am back in the action, and find a good time to use my first Splashdown. The eggs from that let us hit quota, so now we just need to stay unsplatted, which isnt a given. But we manage it, and thats it done! Profreshional 999, and a new badge! Woomy!")

Aww yeah, our Explosher is inking walls like they mean it! But its only a Mothership wave. I have the Splat Dualies, so I think Im best running around collecting eggs, and letting our Explosher and Snipewriter bring down the Chinooks. Of course, I also have the Killer Wail, so pinging the Mothership on its first approach would have been useful. Never mind, at least I remember the second time, even if I probably let loose a little early. Its all good, as we grab a bunch of eggs and get through to the second wave without any drama.
Its my turn with the Explosher! Flyfish watch out. I even have a squidmate to point me towards them, once I revive them from a high-tide swim. And heres a Flyfish right now! And a second! Theyre just lining up, which is nice. I get a little mired in Flippers for a bit, but manage to get across to the other corner for a third Flyfish. Heading back the other way sees a loaded Snatcher, and its going to cross the basket. My squidmate notices too, and their Snipewriter will take care of dropping the eggs, as another Flyfish appears. Fish Fingers bog me down, though, stopping me gaining ink to throw eggs. I splat one of them, but still struggle to get ink. I end up being splatted near the water, as too many eggs go to waste near the basket. But we survive. Onwards!
A Tornado for the final wave is a little disappointing, particularly with the Snipewriter and its lack of piercing damage. My remaining Killer Wail doesnt have anything to lock-on to either. But were not going to get overwhelmed, or miss out on quota, so its a straightforward matter to finish the Run. Or is it?!
Joe makes an appearance at low tide, which should be fun! Im targeted first and dash forwards to where the bosses appear, and get a helping Cohock hand under a Lid for early eggs. I use one on Joe, one on a Drizzler, giving me more for Joe. Were off to a good start! I try to drag Joe over more bosses, but the Scrapper moves before Joe bites, and I end up using my Killer Wail to splat a pair of them. I bring down another Lid too, but this time am not slapped along, and get splatted, but at least I got a Steelhead in the process. And we have loads of eggs. I make a mess of getting revived, though, and by the time Im in a position to use the eggs, most of my shots are rushed and fall short. All we needed was a couple more solid hits, which I could have got, and Joe would have been splatted. Theres a lesson to be learnt somewhere.")

I ink some walls, then get down to business, shooting the back of a squidmate. I dont think it helps, but I keep going, collecting eggs from one Fish Finger, then shooting up another to collect more eggs. I would have splatted it, but the Hydra Splatling beat me to it. I run away from a Maws, dragging her to the basket, then its up another Fish Finger, which I actually splat this time. I drop down a bit too close to another Maws, then collect more eggs, which are just lying around. A Stinger gets my attention, so I splat them, and drag another Maws back to the basket with me, and dunk a few more eggs to end the wave.
I get the L-3 Nozzlenoses heavier and slower cousin for the second wave. I dont like it much, but maybe it can splat bosses more quickly. If they came this way. The Fish Finger lands yonder, and a squidmate going to splat it has the attention of both Lids. A Scrapper appears, something that can get closer to us, and as I wait for it to come I splat some Cohocks. Finally, our egg tally is moving. Im tempted to wait for the Drizzler next, but a Stinger will cause problems. Its next to a Flyfish too, so I whip out a Crab and blast them both, I think helped by a nearby Lid. I splat that too. I start throwing eggs back, bringing down another Lid, and I mess up splatting a Snatcher that was about to help us. Never mind. I bring a Scrapper to the basket, and dunk some eggs, but we need more. I bring down a Lid, but dodging it and the Flipper puts me in some rain. Im revived, and get back up to splat two Lids, dropping down to nearly fall in the water. Im glad I inked that wall. A few more seconds, a few more eggs, but I mis-time the last throw. Never mind, on to the third wave!
Down to the shore, where we have cannons to play with. Im having one of them, and start shooting. Im pretty impressed that I bring a Fish Finger down with one shot. I even replicate it moments later! A Lid stops a third attempt, which a squidmate manages anyway, but two more fly in and they manage to land. Thats cool, as a Maws might be biting me soon, and I hop out of a cannon to dodge a Stinger. I get back in a different cannon to splat a Flyish, a squidmate getting the Stinger, and then its time to start dunking eggs, which we are quite short on. I dodge a Steel Eel by leaping a small gap that I nearly dont make, and as the seconds run out we throw eggs from everywhere. We make quota without issue, and celebrate another successful Run.
Except its not over! In comes Horrorboros. I have the Hydra Splatling, so I am planning to simply shoot its mouth bomb as much as possible. I get good hits in for the first three bombs, inksploding them in Boross mouth, and then fail to splat a Steelhead, as Boros gets in the way. I have to reset, getting a bit lost as I do. But I recover, and get in to a good position to hit the mouth bomb some more, which is all it takes. Boros is splatted without much ceremony, and were nicely rewarded too. Woomy!")

Alright, I reset my rank, which dumped me all the way down to B+. I think Ill be competitive again more regularly, and hopefully without annoying anyone. I think I need the practice, though, as I muck up my first ambush. I dont realise the inkling isnt hiding but refilling their ink tank after dropping a Beakon, so they pop out as I jump down. Never mind, I catch them, as they dodge-roll in to a wall, much as I would. My squidmates have got the Tower moving in the meantime, and I help push it along a bit, before dropping back to be in more of a support role. That seems to suit me, and I get a couple of splats, before the Tower lures me to it, and I get right back in to old bad habits of running headlong in to Splatlings. Maybe I am B+ material at the moment.
Were wiped out, which is fine really, and have to tend with the Tower coming back our way. I get on the block and start sloshing, getting a couple of splats from fairly obvious movements, before getting suckered in to chasing the Splat Dualies with their Splashdown ready. That pushes me backwards for my survival, but only in to some different Dualies. So it goes. I return to splat a Beakon, then survive a splatting only from the inklings aim being a little off. We get the Tower moving again, and I get a lucky splat as the Dapple Dualies dodge-roll in to me, and get lucky again as I challenge the Splat Dualies directly on the Tower.
I bail out as we approach the corner of Heavy Edit Splatling doom, only it has become dodge-rolling Dapple Dualies doom. Never mind, back to the fray, and a heavily contested Tower. With everyone throwing themselves at it, there are plenty of splats, and we end up coming out on top, moving the Tower forwards. I hang around and slosh blindly over the ledge, which really doesnt seem to be doing much. An Inkjet doesnt help either, but it rarely does for me, but for some reason I get the attention of the Heavy Edit Splatling and Dualie Squelchers. I manage to splat them both, at the cost of my own splatting, but that seems worth it. Well, except for the Tower moving backwards.
I head down the flank on my return, noticing that these inklings are less sensitive to my movements. Im paranoid that theyve spotted me and are about to turn and splat me, but they dont, which isnt really going to teach me anything when I head back up the ranks, but I enjoy the splats now. I abandon the Tower again to try to splat the Heavy Edit Splatling on the ledge, changing my mind as they tend to shoot forwards, and get a lucky splat on some Dualies. I go back to add pressure to the splatling, and some Toxic Mist, as my squimdates get the Tower around the corner. Nice! I try to slosh to keep things moving, but Im now in the corner of splatty doom, and theres only one result. For me, anyway. My squidmates are doing better, and the Tower hits the goal before I can even super-jump back. Woomy!")

Oh my goodness, the Reeflux. I dont like this weapon in Salmon Run, as it feels too weak to do much, but here we are. I can get it out of the way in the first wave. And with my squidmates all around me I can feel like I am making a difference. At least when a Fish Finger flies in I can actually splat a boss on my own, which is nice, and then a second lands nearby and I can still hit it. But that shake when I release my shot! I need to relax my grip, or adjust my sensitivity. Either way, the Fish Fingers are splatted, and I land to splat a Maws, something the Reeflux can do just as well as any other weapon. Indeed, I stick mostly to throwing Splat Bombs and eggs, only pausing for a Steelhead that I am close enough to that I cant miss. In the end, its a decent enough wave.
On to the second wave, and Im rolling with the Big Swig. Im also pausing to stroke my cat before the bosses get too close. Hes a good kitty. A couple of Maws are easy, and a Scrapper turns its back on me nicely. I head shorewards to splat a Fish Finger that isnt causing any harm, and turn back to help dunk some eggs. Everythings all a bit subdued, it feels like, making it quite relaxing to splat bosses and deliver eggs. A Stinger tries to harsh our calm, but having a squidmate more distant to it than me makes it easier, for me. And a Fish Finger does actually cause problems, spewing ink all around the basket. I cant even climb the post. Still, we clear the wave without issues, and move on to the final one.
The tide behaves itself, and I have a Splash-o-matic, giving me lots of inking power but little range. I need none of either as two Flyfish fly in, but the Flipper makes the weapon useful, and i find a Fish Finger much easier to climb this time. I am nearly caught out by a Flyfish, and nearly fall in the drink escaping its missiles, but survive and deliver some eggs, pausing to splat a Drizzler. As its the final wave, I use a Killer Wail to splat a distant Stinger, and a second for a Flyfish that just closes its bins and a second Stinger. I think everythings going just fine, until I am the only inkling standing, and standing quite far from the basket. Thankfully, a Chum doesnt stop me climbing a wall, and a well-aimed Splat Bomb hits two squidmates to revive them. Even so, we still need eggs, and quite a few in the last twenty seconds. More Special weapons are used, creating eggs and clearing turf, and we make quota relatively comfortably.
But were not finished yet. In comes Cohozuna. I have the Hydra Splatling for this, and I believe my best play is to just shoot Zuna normally as much as possible. Thats my plan, at least, but its seems Zuna has the same idea, in that it wants to squish me a lot, and that makes building up a charge more awkward. When I do get some turf between us, a Stinger interrupts me. Not for long, though, as my squidmates are out splatting bosses, so I can simply reposition again and get back to shooting. Im not sure Im making big enough dents in Zuna, though, but without eggs nearby theres not much I can do. I just hope Im not keeping Zuna too far from where there are actually eggs. In the end it doesnt matter, as we are all splatted pretty close to each other, and Zuna survives another wave. Still, we got two silver scales for our efforts.")

Inking walls is good, as is splatting the first Flyfish. But so is inking walls. I cant resist splatting a Fish Finger on my way back with an egg either, and although a Stinger is threatening I see a squidmate going to splat it so I simply satisfy myself with bringing back two eggs. Eventually. By the time I do, Im being followed by a Scrapper, so I wait for that to give me three more eggs. After that, its helping with a Stinger and Drizzler, almost getting smacked too hard by a Cohock, and heading back to the basket with eggs scattered all over the place. Another Scrapper has followed me, seeking revenge, but I splat it, and then its time to stop some Snatchers, trying to steal the eggs we already stole. This time, its a Smallfry who gets some watery revenge. So it goes.
The Splattershot Nova lets me ink more walls, which is nice, and hit a Stinger from a comfortable distance. I still need to go to pick up the eggs, which has a Cohock chase me, but I get back to the basket okay. A Lid is dropped twice, and two clusters of eggs are delivered, before I run away from both Flyfish missiles and spoony little Smallfry. I use a Lid to get out of the way of the spoons, and use up some time before the Flyish retargets. I splat it when it does, and follow-up to splat the Stinger waddling behind it. I head back up the column, where I splat a Fish Finger while avoiding Chum, before finally getting to the basket. I head back out for a stocked-up Snatcher, but pause for a Maws, at which point I am bounced around and splatted. We still need eggs too, but my squidmates have use covered.
On to the final wave, and the fog rolls in. I should probably ink some walls! Two Scrappers wander up, and we scrap over them, and a third that appears from elsewhere. Those are easy eggs to start with. A Goldie drops one egg, which is disappointing, but at least we dont get fixated on a big drop and I can head off to splat a Stinger. I let the eggs lay there, wanting to get back to the basket instead, and splatting a Steelhead carelessly standing next to a Goldie gives us a plethora of eggs. Nice! But this is where we could be in trouble, as we have too many eggs to dunk and our focus drops from the bosses. A Kraken helps, as does one squidmate going to splat the Stingers, but even with all the eggs around we still only just scrape the half-century by the end of the wave. A decent result all the same!
But its not over! We have an emergency, as a Horrorboros is spotted over the Station. The previous weapon selections gives me the E-litre 4K for this, which is good. I plant myself at the top of the column and get ready to start shooting! The first Boros-bomb is splatted in its mouth nice and quickly, as is the second, thanks to a Crab. The third goes the same way, dropping Boros below half-health very quickly, but a build-up of bosses, or a lack of golden eggs, means the fourth is thrown free. No bother, and we get back on track with the next bomb, although I muck up and run out of ink, choosing to let my next charge build up slowly. Its not a great choice, and although I get my shot off it is too slow and I get hit by Flyfish missiles. Still, its not all about me, and my squidmates are all over Boros, splatting it moments later. I miss the resulting inksplosion, but the three silver and single gold scale as a reward makes up for that. Woomy!")

I hide for a bit, looking for any green inkling flank us. That doesnt happen, so I hop on the Tower instead, but Im rather isolated, and not smart enough not to jump in to a Splat Bomb. I risk a super-jump back, which kinda lands me safely, but I ruin that by looking for a splat under a Splashdown. My squidmates arent doing much better, and our Wipeout sees the green team extend their lead. Were pushed back a little too much, and Im blasting at anything that moves. I get a splat out of it, which is nice, but not a drink, not even when I get on the Tower. How disappointing.
I hop off the Tower to protect my flank, and follow-up by blasting a pair of inklings standing too close together. I get a glancing hit on the final inkling, and a nicely aimed shot where they are likely to run away to finishes the Wipeout for me. Nice! If only someone was on the Tower. But they get there, as I continue to cause confusion, and with a squidmate on the Tower and the rest of us skirmishing, we steal the lead. I dont seem to be doing much, though, but my Wave Breaker gets a splat, just before I bump my head trying to run away.
I poke forwards as the Tower trundles our way, glancing a blast off the Splattershot, but doing little more. I stupidly waste ink throwing a Suction Bomb in to an Inkstrike, before being a bit more stupid and throwing myself in to one. Super-jumping back in to green ink doesnt seem wise, but I survive the landing, and instead chase a splat down the flank. I get it, which is something, but Im double-teamed and am splatted too easily in the process. I launch myself back in to the fray, getting an assist and a nice accidental splat, and this time I manage to avoid a Splat Bomb. I start probing the turf using my range, looking like Im being sensible for a change, but push for a splat when I predict a nice angle. This time, I jump in to the Splat Bomb.
Dare I super-jump? I dare! I land right in an Inkstrike. I super-jump closer to home next, which works, and I get a nice splat that doesnt quite clear the Tower. I also find myself under another Splashdown. Its fine. We have around thirty seconds left and a decent enough lead. I take a defensive route back, and help clear the Tower, and a bit of the support. I even survive a Trizooka shot at the Tower, as I try to hold on for the final few seconds. I realise thats not going to happen, so I hop off, leaving a Suction Bomb, which apparently was all the ink I had left. It does its job, though, even if it leaves me jumping in green ink unable to do anything, except maybe squeeze out one last blast to clear the Tower and help secure victory. Woomy!")

Inking the Splat Zone from the safe spot seems like a good idea, and moving across to the other comes naturally. My squidmates seem to have things covered, so I head around the back, just what a backliner should do. I get mixed up with the Douser Dualies, who struggle to hit me as I struggle to hit them, and get lucky. I ride that luck and splat the Splat Charger who runs in to me, and the Big Swig Roller super-jumping in. I miss another super-jumper, the Douser Dualies again, but get another splat as I get overwhelmed, leaving my squidmates in a positive position.
I think I can super-jump back, and indeed land safely. I start shooting where it looks like an inkling is, and they are, but when I hear a Splashdown, I manage to swim in the wrong direction. So it goes. I head back to orange Splat Zones, but one turning blue, and try to stay out of trouble for the moment. The blue team arent keen on that idea, and as an Inkstrike flies in I decide to look for trouble instead, and go around the back again. I dont find any, and cant see anything happening, until the blue team start returning. I under-estimate the Splat Chargers aim, and and splatted for it.
I dont risk a super-jump, and return to the blue team encroaching on our turf. I splat one away, miss a Splashdown, and we lose the Splat Zones as we try to defend. The Douser Dualies try to flush me out, but I avoid them by moving around a corner. Its not often that works. With just the Big Swig up, I try to push them back as my squidmates sort out the Splat Zones, and then get some height. I lose sight of the Roller, but see the Dualies coming back and duck away from them. They focus on a squidmate, getting the splat, but as they hit the apex of their Splashdown attempt, I splat them out of the air. Nice!
The Splat Zones are turned orange again, which is good, but the blue team returning have other ideas. As they vie to turn their own blue, my attempt to stop them is delayed by an active Ink Vac. I wait it out, and pop out to incidentally splat the Inkstriker, before only getting a glancing blow on the Splat Charger. I wait for a super-jumper to land, out of sight of the Splat Charger, but before they do, the battle is won. Woomy!")
