South Kaibab Trail offers three day hike options from the same trailhead: Ooh Ahh Point (2 miles, 600 feet gain), Cedar Ridge (3 miles, 1,200 feet gain), and Skeleton Point (6 miles, 2,040 feet gain). The trailhead is shuttle-only access from Grand Canyon Village. Each turnaround point delivers classic canyon views with increasing elevation loss and return climb. The trail starts with steep switchbacks through the chimney section before opening to exposed ridgeline hiking. No water sources exist on trail. Mule trains have right of way and require stepping aside. Best hiked in cooler months due to full sun exposure and summer heat danger.
