The inReach Mini 2 is an incremental upgrade with a USB-C port, better battery life, and a faster processor, but the same core messaging and SOS functions as the original. I bought this with my own money and tested it for five months across hundreds of trail miles. Battery life ranges from 200 hours in open sky to about 30 hours under heavy tree cover, depending on how hard the device works to reach Iridium satellites.
