Happy New Year!
Why, oh why, would someone donate this great 1990 Sony STR-D2020 to Goodwill, and why would Goodwill sell it only for $4.99? I guess we tend to move along in life and do new things for various good reasons we choose.
130WPC and features very early digital inputs - optical and coaxial! Well, it went to a good home in 2021 and tonight it’s getting a workout with my HPM-100’s. Someone paid a lot for this back in the day and I’m happy to keep this unit living and it’s a great piece of Sony engineering.
Love the fluidity of the spectrum analyzer and the strong gain on the EQ. It does not need to be front ended with any EQ and performs great as-is.
Lots of buttons, lights, bells, and whistles. As many things were in the 80s.
Paired tonight with my Pioneer HPM-100’s from the late 1970’s and soon I’ll discuss those speakers in detail.
Any resolutions out there? I’m running out of space, seriously, so I’m actually going to cut back on my audio collecting this year. I have a lot to be fortunate for.Looking to open up an electronic repair business as a side job, but that’s gonna take a while to come to fruition, as I have a corporate day job. I’d actually love to fix things for free for others if I could to keep this hobby and lost art going.
