I love the Technics stuff from the 80s. I really like the backlit dashboard display. And all the buttons, bells, and whistles.
Here’s the SA–460. 50 watts per channel, STK amp chip, multiple inputs, with simulated stereo called “stereoplex”.
AV jacks in the front. And a VCR sound EQ button for back in the days when you were playing videotapes which did not have the best sound. This would increase the midrange and make recorded tapes sound more listenable.
This also has a TV tuner, so back in the 1980s you could watch Saturday Night Live on your regular TV and then tune to NBC on this to get the program in stereo! Or perhaps a sports game when audio was broadcast in stereo but your TV was just a basic one with a single speaker.
What a time to be alive! And it’s fun reliving this 40 years later!
