Customising a Siku 1341 Range-Rover, in the Siku range from 1978 until 1986.

I am a big fan of the chunky nature of Siku's castings. However, sometimes their wheel choices and other design choices don't really suit a model. The lack of trim to this makes this Range Rover look a bit bland, particularly missing the usually vinyl covered C-pillar. The wheels too just make it look all a bit generic. I wanted to bring back some of its personality with this custom.

While the beige is a relevant 1970s colour for a Range Rover, I wanted something a bit more stark and striking. Enter Rover's Applejack Green, from a paint can I've had since the very beginning of the channel! It receives a full complement of trim, an interior recolour, and importantly a set of 4x4 Rostyle wheels from Creative One64.

The Range Rover completely changed the way 4x4s were perceived, proving that there was a market for off road luxury rather than simple utilitarianism. This proved to be the case more and more as it rolled through the decades as it was increasingly gentrified. The end product was quite a departure to the 1970 car, now sporting 5 instead of 3 doors, leather interiors, walnut dashes and so on.
