CORGI JUNIORS Jaguar XJ-S Lynx Eventer custom

For a long time, I have wanted a 1/64 scale Lynx Eventer. To me they are so elegant and the shooting brake style really complements the Jaguar XJ-S's design. Only 67 were ever converted and each was crafted to the exact specification desired by the original customer.

I took a pair of Corgi Juniors Jaguar XJ-S models and removed the roof from one to create the extended roofline of the other. It took a lot of work to meld them together and smooth out the join, plus I also had to consider the interior which needed it's own extension and adjustments. The Corgi XJ-S that I used were both later issue (mid-1980s) castings which had a metal rather than plastic base, excellent for some added rigidity.

Lynx Eventers were converted between 1982 and 2002 with each being unique. Taking Jaguar's controversial E-Type replacement, the XJ-S, and giving it more practicality, Lynx removed one of the biggest points of contention about the car; the flying buttresses. The Eventer would go down as a 'if you know, you know' rarity and due to their low numbers are incredibly sought after.
