This live version of "Show Me The Way", written and recorded by Peter Frampton, is from his Frampton Comes Alive and won 'best selling' album of 1976. The song reached #6 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and features the use of a talkbox device which became his trademark. A studio single version, without the talkbox, was released in 1975 but didn't go anywhere. Born in Bromley, UK, Frampton at the age of 7 taught himself how to play the guitar, and later the piano. At age 8, he began taking classical music lessons and also became a successful child singer. Both he and David Bowie, who was three years older, were pupils at Bromley Technical School and would spend time together at lunch breaks playing Buddy Holly songs. His early influences also included The Shadows, Eddie Cochran, The Ventures, Jimi Hendrix, and the Beatles.
