Written and recorded by British new wave band The Tompson Twins in 1983, "Hold Me Now", was an international chart success peaking at #4 in the UK where it became the band's biggest seller earning a gold disc, and reached #3 in the US in 1984 becoming their biggest American hit. The group was named after the two detectives in the Belgian cartoonist Hergé's comic strip The Adventures of Tintin. They became a prominent act in the Second British Invasion. The band has a very modern sound that relied on electronic instruments, however this song was more organic than their previous efforts because of their use of real instruments. The composition was triggered by the real marriage relationship between two of the band members.
