These are a selection of weather broadcasts and weather science oriented segments provided by former WOTV 8 meteorologist Dave Carmichael between 1982 into the mid 1980's from his time as a on camera meteorologist at WOTV 8, the NBC affiliate in Grand Rapids and West Michigan.
Weather science segments were commonplace on local news affiliates in the 1980's through the early 1990's and I remember many of these quite well growing up in West Michigan on WOTV, WZZM and WWMT. "Science, Maps and Intuition" was a segment often featured on the News 8 "Live at 5" program that for a certain era of budding meteorologists and weather enthusiasts was a time to "tune in" and hit record on the VCR.
Please excuse some of the old tape (color) dropouts initially as some of the formats did not hold up over time.
