National Geographic "Cyclone" as it originally broadcast on NBC the week after Thanksgiving on November 29, 1995. The documentary special was the first extreme weather follow up to the 1985 documentary and featured recent weather events from the late 1980's and early 1990's. The special would be the first of many broadcast and home video releases as "Twister" was in post production and storm chasing as an activity, also featured within this special, was becoming a popularized media phenomenon. Original commercials are included as this aired on Kansas City affiliate KSHB TV 41.
The most stand out prediction noted at the time of this airing was in the conclusion of the special regarding a then worse case natural disaster scenario in New Orleans, as showcased in a digital simulation, ten years prior to Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.
