This is raw video from a KFDA TV 10 storm chase crew recorded on May 28, 1994 over primarily open country between Stinnett and Miami, Texas. The tornado was one of the few observed during Project VORTEX 1994 operations that spring. This tornado, photographed from another backlit perspective by photojournalist and storm chaser Warren Faidley, became the tornado image on the movie poster for the 1996 production of Twister. Also of note, the NCAR Electra [the commentator refers to it as the P3, which was also in service during VORTEX] makes a radar sweep fly by of the tornado at 3:25.
