I wanted to be able to plug one or more external batteries into RYOBI tools. I designed this adapter to fit in where the battery normally attaches. For example, with a RYOBI Inverter, you can connect a bank of 18V batteries and have a longer run time.
In this movie I go thru how I used a Revopoint POP 3D scanner to reverse engineer the RYOBI battery interface. I also show how I developed the CAD models. I printed the models with a Prusa 3D Printer. At around the 8 minute mark, I go into how I assembled the adapter cable.
Things used:
* Revopoint Pop 3D scanner ( amzn.to/3Gx7rau )
* Nickel battery strips ( amzn.to/3pLBE07 )
* Magnaflux Spotcheck ( amzn.to/33ayav7 )
* Wire Crimper ( amzn.to/3igwTog )
* Wire Stripper ( amzn.to/33lQak4 )
* 10AWG Stranded Silicon Wire ( amzn.to/36q6BgU )
* Flexible TPU filament ( amzn.to/3pM0Ljb )
* PETG filament ( amzn.to/3FPGcYW )
* Insulated 1/4" female terminals ( amzn.to/32hGPIb )
* 9ah Battery ( amzn.to/32ypiQ0 )
* Ryobi 18V 800W Inverter RYi8030AVNM ( homedepot.com/p/RYOBI-ONE-18V-800-Watt-Max-12V-Automotive-Power-Inverter-with-Dual-USB-Ports-RYi8030AVNM/316453021 )
I put the 3D Print models at: prusaprinters.org/prints/111336-ryobi-18v-battery-adapter-cable and thingiverse.com/thing:5185429
