After our old Sugar Maple came down, it dawned on us that the garage roof now gets sun all day long. We ended up getting 16 LG 320 watt black panels. We went with a grid tied system using Enphase micro inverters. The Enphase Envoy talks to each panel and posts data to the web. In the spring with full sun we are getting about 4000 watts. With the Federal Tax Credit the payback should be about 6 years. The panels are warranted for 25 years. The panels should last longer.
