Running Pontypridd parkrun. parkrun Challenges: The Full Ponty. parkrun Tourism in South Wales @NicolaRuns

The beauty of parkrun is that it can be whatever you want it to be, from a simple 5km run/jog/walk on a Saturday morning, to a complex world of challenges, Wilson Index chasing and p-Index increasing. For me the parkrun challenges keep me engaged and excited and provide a focus for my parkrun tourism.

This year I've decided to complete The Full Ponty: Running at all 4 parkruns with Ponty/Ponte in their name. Pontefract was easy as it is only 25 minutes down the road but Ponty number 2 was harder. We headed to South Wales to run at Pontypridd parkrun the day before I took on the Dragon 50 - a 50 mile ultra along the Wales Coast path. This park is amazing and has so many facilities as well as an incredible Lido! I highly recommend booking tickets for the lido for a post-parkrun swim if you can.

Definitely worth a visit and the team at Pontepridd parkrun were super friendly. A local running club was doing a takeover the week we visited and there was a real party atmosphere! I'm looking forward to Pontys 3 and 4!
