This was one of my favorite songs of 1981, and its by singer-songwriter and musician Rickie Lee Jones, who's one of my favorite female artists. This joyous bopping track teams her up with several acclaimed jazz musicians, including Tom Scott, David Sanborn, Randy Brecker, and Steve Gadd. "Woody and Dutch on the Slow Train to Peking" was only released as a single in Europe and Australia--they should've released it as a separate single here instead of getting limited airplay as an album cut. Despite that, the song appeared on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, peaking at #31, and it's another of those songs that I thought deserved to be a bigger hit.
