Is Re:Zero Season 4 at risk of being rushed? New leaks suggest the upcoming season may only have 19 episodes, and while this isn’t official confirmation, it’s coming from a source many fans consider reliable. That number has sparked concern, especially when you compare it to Season 3’s Arc 5, which was labeled as 16 episodes but effectively ran closer to 21 standard-length episodes thanks to a 90-minute premiere and extended cuts.
Season 4 is expected to adapt Arc 6, which presents its own challenges. In the web novel, Arc 6 is significantly longer than Arc 5, but since the anime adapts the light novel version, Arc 6 is actually slightly shorter there. While that helps on paper, Arc 6 is far more dialogue-heavy, making it harder to compress without cutting content.
Adapting Arc 6 into 19 episodes is possible, but some material would almost certainly be trimmed, likely by speeding through the slower early sections to preserve the most important moments later on. Even so, there’s reason to be cautiously optimistic, as White Fox has a strong track record with Re:Zero adaptations.
