Within a month after the Day of Pentecost there were about 100 House Churches in and around Jerusalem. They ate together, prayed together, worshipped together, supported each other, were accountable to each other and used their newfound spiritual gifts to encourage and build up the Body of Christ. They also met in large gatherings in the temple courts to hear the apostles preach and teach. This was the early Church paradigm which lasted until the 4th century when the Church joined the Roman Empire and House Churches died out completely.
Today, the vast majority of Christians are mere spectators in Church. Large gatherings can inspire, but do not transform or create disciples. Can we change the paradigm and reclaim the Early Church model? In this video I offer a strategy to reclaim the Early Church paradigm.
