Both Pentecostal and Charismatics teach that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is a ‘second blessing’ quite apart from new birth, being born again. This idea has led to people who are not born again seeking spiritual power with the wrong attitude and in the wrong places and many thinking that repeating a sentence of absolute gibberish is proof they have received the Holy Spirit. It has also led to an obsession with power, to self-proclaimed prophets and apostles deceiving millions of gullible people into thinking they can be the next Harry potter of Gandalf.
