What is the relationship between grace, revelation and faith? Is grace offered and applied to all people or only the few? Are there different types of grace? And what about revelation? Does God only reveal Himself to those pre-determined to salvation as Calvinists teach, or is there general revelation intended to call all people to seek God and reach out and know Him as Paul told the Athenian philosophers in Acts 17. Does the Bible teach a form of progressive revelation, that those who obey God’s command to seek will receive a deeper revelation which leads to salvation?
And what of faith? Is faith also a gift from God, something He only dishes out to those He has chosen, or is it a human response to grace and revelation? Calvinists and hyper-grace adherents refuse to admit that the final decision to either accept or reject the gospel is a human responsibility which has eternal consequences.
