I ran the AKK at 2W and the Rush Max Solo at max 2.5W just to be fair since the next lowest setting is 1W. The Rush video looks crappy here cause I tried to rotate and crop the tilted screen in the video and ended up zooming in the size of it. Both are good transmitters but I haven't ran the AKK for long enough to say that it holds up as well as the Rush. Both cars are using crossfire for control at 915Mhz. Sort of the idea for me is that if I use a solid VTX designed for over 2W output, it should run totally solid at only 1W even on hot days. I'm typically not seeing a huge benefit from going over 1W output. At about the point of 30dB there really isn't much need to go higher than that on the ground but I can understand wanting it in the air. (losing video and not being able to go around one extra small object is not a big deal on the ground but can be a huge deal with a fast moving drone)
The AKK is using a 1500TVL 'Readytosky' camera and the Rush is using a 1200TVL Ant Cam. Both transmitters perform well but it's hard to say which I like better because of annoying technicalities. I need a separate receiver just to have audio, and the Rush has the dedicated audio input making it easy for me to add my own mic. I can't go very far while still having clear audio with that though. Meanwhile the AKK has the on board mic I can't really hear over the fans that well so I end up getting the audio from 1.3G. If I'm using the 1.3G audio anyway then I might go with the AKK. I think the clover leaf is also actually made by AKK and claims a high gain but I'm not sure it would be higher than the double AXII.
Whether using the AKK or the Rush, the Steadyview is able to get a clear noise-free picture through a good deal of trees/bushes or other obstructions before breaking up. If I end up trying the Skyzone 1.2G diversity receiver and it works better than the RMRC ground station I have now then I don't see much reason for me to keep using analog 5.8G on the ground. If I figure out drones eventually then the analog 5.8 should be great in the air.
