On Monday September 16th, 2019, I was able to give a clinic to my local NMRA division members.

The topic was Railroad Radio Communications. I am in no way an expert on the topic, but merely a hobbyist with an interest in both trains and radios.

The presentation starts with me explaining some history about radio technology, and early railroad communications methods. I then move on to advancements in the technology, explain some of today's common uses of radio on the railroad, before finishing up with pointing out some easy and common details that can be added to a model to enhance its appearance and practical ways to add radio communications to a model railroad layout.

The clinic ends with a question and answer session.

Disclaimer: As I said, I am in no way an expert on the topic, just enjoy learning and talking about the subject. I did not have a chance to rehearse my talk before the meeting, so I may have mis-spoke a few details.

If there is something I left out, our could have explained better, please leave a comment below!
