Q&A: You've said that adding weight to the bar is what stimulates muscle growth but others say that gaining muscle is what lets you add weight to the bar. Thoughts?

In today's Q&A I look at the 'debate' (by which I mean a silly argument people made up years ago to try to make me be wrong) over whether adding weight to the bar (i.e. progressive tension overload) is what stimulates growth or gaining muscle is what ALLOWS you to add weight to the bar.
The answer may shock you (except it probably won't).
