On my snowshoes, I show harvesting a nice standing/dead snag for firewood, which is allowed out on public land here. This old jack pine and black spruce stand is very open and plentiful in snags. Snow is deep, and these modern aluminum framed snowshoes (10x34in) sink like a stone. I much prefer my traditionally shaped big wooden frame and babiche (rawhide) laced snowshoes, but I brought the synthetics on this trip because of wet snow and rain in the forecast. Bow saw is 24 inch. Some other winter camp images thrown in for fun.

This is the 4th in the series of my mid March 2014, 7-day solo winter hot tent camp in northwestern Ontario. More to come in the series! Thanks for watching!
