My submission for the Hardware Jams “Psychedelic Trance” Weekend Challenge.
I’ve been trying to decide what modules to add to my synth next and had the idea of setting up a simulation of my physical eurorack in VCV rack. I’ve been thinking about making a MidSide module to help with the stereo imaging of some of the voices in the rack, and experimented with this as an option in VCV rack on the lead line in this jam. I think I will keep this idea on the build queue as it should be fun to use in the real world system too.
I was running super late for submitting this in time this week and in my rush I somehow managed to shift the video slightly while editing. My apologies for the video being about 1 beat ahead of the audio :-(

In the heart of summer, you and your friends decided to embark on a camping trip to the mysterious and eerie Blue Mist Mountain. Legends whispered that strange occurrences happened on the mountain, and it was rumored to be haunted by ancient spirits. Ignoring the spooky tales, you and your friends were excited for an unforgettable camping experience.
As you set up your campsite, the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the forest. You gathered around a crackling campfire, having beers and exchanging gear stories trying to add a thrilling element to your adventure. Unbeknownst to you, the mountain had a peculiar effect on sounds, and even the slightest rustle of leaves echoed mysteriously.
As night fell, you heard distant, hypnotic music that seemed to emanate from the heart of the mountain. The beats were rhythmic, the melodies enchanting, and everyone was both captivated and puzzled. One of you suggested to follow the sound and investigate its source.
With flashlights in hand, you ventured into the woods, guided by the pulsating trance music. The forest grew denser, and the sounds became more pronounced. As you approached the heart of the mountain, you noticed an ethereal glow illuminating the trees.
Emerging from the dense foliage, you stumbled upon an extraordinary sight - a hidden clearing adorned with colorful lights, psychedelic decorations, and a stage where HWJammers were setting up their equipment. It was a psychedelic trance festival unlike anything you had ever seen before.
You were both shocked and excited by your unexpected discovery. The festival-goers, dressed in vibrant clothing, greeted you warmly, assuming you were new attendees who had just arrived. You decided to embrace the moment and join the festivities, feeling the allure of the pulsating music and the positive energy that filled the air.

I'm a strong believer in continuous improvement and always trying to learn something new. While creating this video I set up a simulation of my physical eurorack in VCV rack. The temptation is strong to just add more in VCV rack, the point for me was to enable me to test quickly new modules I might add to the physical synth to see if they will do what I need. I also learnt how to control VCV rack from physical controllers and set up the beatstep pro and korg nano control to run the rig.
