My submission for the Hardware Jams Secret Santa 2025.
In the HWJ Secret Santa we each get given the name of another jammer who has also entered and the festive challenge is to make a jam in the style of that Jammer and / or as a tribute to them.
This year I got to make a jam for Bad Electric youtube.com/@badelectric
I really enjoyed Bad Electric's recent meditation series with lots of minimal slow drones and soundscapes, so decided to pay homage to those with my own meditation jam. I based this around feedback and chaos, trying to find beautiful sounds in amongst the madness. I started with a feedback patch using Rama and the Crush Delay which created some really nice textures, and then added the bleeps and chirps from the Tabor. I added lots of unsynced modulation from chaotic sources and lfos and had a lot of fun sweeping band pass filters across these textures.
Thank you Bad Electric for the inspiration and for all your amazing jams in 2025.

My DIY Synth Rules

I aim to meet the following criteria when adding modules to my synth:
◦ I must have constructed it.
This can be a kit or from scratch but I must have soldered it
◦ The audio signal path should be analog.
I'm trying to avoid digital modules so I can learn more about analog electronics
◦ Learn something new
Try to learn something while constructing the module. Learn about the circuits, experiment with different signal processing options. Be creative.
◦ Have fun
