My submission for the Hardware Jams “Fusion” Weekend Challenge.
What happens if you mash together some ambient sounds, some drones, and some Drum & Bass?
This is my exploration of what that could sound like. Starting off light and slowly descending into darkness and madness, gradually getting more detuned and weird along the way. I had a lot of fun making this.
I’ve recently build a Befaco Rampage module to add to the synth and intended to use it for all sorts of cv manipulation, but ended up just using it as a slew limiter on the lead sound :-) plenty more potential for future exploration of this module is up ahead though.
This week’s challenge prompt:
Hello fellow jammers! This weekend’s challenge has to do with genre fusion!
Yeap, pick a genre, pick a second one, even a third one and FUSE them!!!
Will it be a country – goth – core? A d&b sonnet? A ballad – acid - break beat? A noise – core?
It’s up to you. Be creative and out of your comfort zone.

I'm a strong believer in continuous improvement and always trying to learn something new. While creating this video I spent some time experimenting with the Befaco Rampage and also experimented with the note slide features on the Beatstep Pro.
My DIY Synth Rules

I aim to meet the following criteria when adding modules to my synth:
◦ I must have constructed it.
This can be a kit or from scratch but I must have soldered it
◦ The audio signal path should be analog.
I'm trying to avoid digital modules so I can learn more about analog electronics
◦ Learn something new
Try to learn something while constructing the module. Learn about the circuits, experiment with different signal processing options. Be creative.
◦ Have fun
