HANDLING
I have had new shooters say they got jams with Black Diamonds or Widows, and I asked, "Did you sling shot your slide?" They did not understand what I meant!
How you handle this gun is of TOTAL IMPORTANCE.

POWER
The PSM45 has superb power for the carnival gun class. The DX-17 and Marksman STRUGGLE (more) to even hit the pop can at 5 measured yards, and be grateful that either Marksman-style gun gets through one side.
Using my carnival tricks of flat front filled with water, the PSM45 consistently punches through both pop can sides.

WEIGHT
Some believe the weight and metal slide on the Crosman doesn't matter. That shows ignorance of WEAPON BALANCE. Weights on bows aren't there for good looks - they help. The Crosman enginneers did great work to put weight on the PSM45 and - most crucial - to DISTRIBUTE the balance of that weight. The balance of a weapon matters.

FURTHER 340 COMPARISONS
Daisy could take the crown back with a 340B. Three needed changes below:
▶️ Replace the metal post on back with casting made from 4140 steel and add a discreet gelatin bumper. That would soften shock from the hammer, and, with real steel post, save the zinc cast hammer from shattering.
▶️ Add an extended barrel of 1 1/2 inches in length. Great power retention and accuracy. There is a real version of this on a .45 ACP, and it looks good. That would put 340B at the top of this class.
▶️ Copy the Crosman magazine as much as possible while still keeping the BB well of 200 BBs. But just the BB well. COPY the dependable PSM45 loading system. The BB well is attractive feature - but just a storage place. Daisy engineers could easily redesign magazine.
