Pro: Cool Amenities that you don't have to maintain
Con: Maintenance Fees you need to pay for those amenities
So living in a condo, especially the newer ones, you'll likely have some cool amenities that improve your lifestyle: a gym, pool, bbq grills, etc. It's nice that you don't have to spend your time maintaining these things, but then again you do pay a decent maintenance fee to live in the condo. Something to keep in mind, maintenance fees in condos will always increase, so if you're buying this as a real estate investment, you need to factor the maintenance fees when determining what you want your monthly payments to be.
Pro: Not a lot of area to clean
Con: Tougher to be creative with your unit
Having a smaller footprint in a condo or apartment keeps you from collecting things as storage and space are limited. However, there are rules and stipulations for what you can actually do and you need certain approvals to renovate.
Pro: You have a community around you for help
Con: You have a community around you that can bother you
So for the most part living in a condo is great because you're able to mingle with your neighbors and network and keep an eye on each other's place. There's a sense of security with living in a condo. However, as a building you are at the mercy of your neighbors, so you can be inconvenienced by the actions of other members in the building.
Pro: ADA Setup
Con: Preferred Home Setup
So condos nowadays need to make provisions for ADA use so living in a condo should be great if you are handicapped. However, if you are used to the home life and the space it can provide, the condo cannot do that for you.
Pro: Views
Con: Access To Views for Guests
So being a vertical structure, condos provide views that a lot of homes cannot especially if you live in a flat state. However, due to guest parking restrictions, it may be tough to get people to come visit you in a condo.
