Finding your dream job or career and finding your passion is probably a hot topic for most people. I was able to find my dream career in my 20s, so in this video we will discuss how I think it's best to get there and some truths to consider when going through the process.

This is very important to sort out because this gives you direction on what you are going to prioritize. Do you care more about your career? Or your lifestyle outside of work? Maybe a little of both? Once you get clarity on this, or at least a general idea of what matters to you (and this can and will change as you progress through life), then design your path accordingly. For example, if you want to live an upper class lifestyle and that means more to you than feeling "fulfilled" at work, then you need to seek out jobs that provide you the income to meet your lifestyle goals.

If you decided that you want to have that passion at work, then after giving it a couple years, I would suggest that you try other industries and try to pivot as quickly as possible to find what makes you tick. Diving into the work is the fastest way to get that clarity and if you are trying to do this in your 20s, you want to move as quickly as possible. I say 2 years because that's not too short where you cant give your situation the proper chance, but not long enough where you could feel stuck or waste time.

Having someone in the position you want to be in giving you advice is such a hack. Who better to help guide your life than the one already living what you want in the future? These people can also help you set expectations, and let you know what is important. That filter really helps tune out any unnecessary noise so you can move quickly towards your goals.

You might as well give your effort at work no matter what. The way you perform in the workplace does have an effect on who you are as a person and professional, so you want to be sure you are putting your best foot forward most of the time. It's also very hard to turn that switch on and off and you don't want to miss opportunities.

I love my job, but that doesn't mean that I'm thrilled at work 24/7. Im sure each job has its quirks and nothing is going to be rosy all the time. Don't put that high of an expectation on your career, and if you're happy most of the time and you feel like you are growing; that's a great sign.
