Morph here is another one of the new players who learned this game through these videos! That's exactly what i was hoping to see when i started this, and they've become real dangerous real quickly. Also say hello to Funkard, a really good player with way too similar of a name to mine!

Morph got off to a great start landing 13 at cost, particularly as it was paired with 03. In Funkard's spot i would've passed and forced Morph to take one of the crappy options on that market; with 04's dirt-cheap coal you can afford to skip plants on turn 2 if necessary.

My crucial mistake of this game was not bidding 18 high enough. The market looked like it could bring lots of goodies afterward, but 18 was guaranteed to make boatloads of money for Morph since they'd gotten 13 at cost. It was definitely worth over $30 in that spot, and i got hit with a bad drop after that & 20. That made it into a 2-way race between Morph & Funkard.

Another mistake of mine was not taking 25 at cost when i had the chance. Morph wanted 34 instead (a bit of a mistake in my view), and i wouldn't really have made any less money that turn with 25. Ended up paying $10 extra to get 25 on the following turn, with 31 immediately following it. =(

All that being said, i might have still had a chance in the end were it not for one last error of mine: not running the 25 on the 2nd to last turn. My thinking was that i'd store enough coal to safely bid for the 36, but it actually got bit high enough to prevent me from reaching 18. Had i burned that coal and committed to hoping for one of the other 7-capacity plants, i might have beaten Morph in the end!

BTW, Funkard should've ended the game at 15 capacity. Think they would've beaten me since i stored a bunch of extra resources.
