Did you search for curly hair advice…and just leave with more confusion because everything you found contradicted itself? 🙋🏻♀️
“Don’t wash your hair too often”
→ “But avoid buildup”
“Curly hair needs lots of moisture”
→ “But too much moisture will reduce your hold”
“You need to balance protein & moisture”
→ “But too much protein will damage your hair”
No wonder people get overwhelmed.
No wonder so many give up.
The problem isn’t you.
It’s that most curly hair advice is shared as rules without context.
Every one of these statements can be true… depending on your hair, your routine, and your goals.
What actually matters is understanding the tradeoffs and how the pieces work together.
When you stop following blanket rules and start learning how washing, conditioning, and hold interact, curly hair gets a lot simpler — and way more consistent.
