If you want longer lasting results, that’s where texture & grit come in.
Especially for:
• Fine hair
• Loose waves
• Softer curl patterns
The tradeoff?
More grit can feel “dry.”
But a textured feeling is not the same as dry hair.
That grit:
• Helps curls repel each other
• Prevents drooping
• Reduces elongation
• Improves longevity
The downside?
• Harder to run your fingers through
• Can feel less silky
• Refreshing may require more intention
Softness = manageability
Grit = longevity
If your hair naturally lacks friction, adding more softness will usually make it fall.
That’s why strong hold, lower conditioning gels are often better for looser or softer curl types who say, “My hair falls straight by the end of the day.”
There’s always a balance. The goal isn’t crunchy or stiff. It’s controlled.
