PLEASE READ to understand (lyrics below) - *warning - some brief white flashes… for best viewing watch in HD - This is a song I have long wanted to do but for years this band was blocked by YT. Recently the ban was lifted (squee!) - This was also in the request area - though part of my list is missing from a former computer crash, when document was mangled during the frantic save - so I don’t know who it was who requested it. lol (sorry). Story follows lyrics - mostly told in Erik’s POV... Erik seeks a life with Christine, who is uncertain, due to the danger he presents, and ashamed by her own actions, to go along with the others’ greed. To complicate matters further, there is the Vicomte, who also wants her. Erik pleads with her that he is nothing without Christine, without their music, the life and opera house/Phantasma (“carnival of rust”) a slowly decaying facade which only the “rain” (his love/desire for her and hers for him) gives any true life to and makes bearable. The “rust” - the theatre itself is corrosive, the performers within steeped in immorality. Still, rain creates rust (E/C’s torrential love/desire eventually leading to the cause of the theatre’s complete downfall) - and in LND, ten long years without her, the carnival (his life there at Phantasma) feels to him dry and broken (carnival of rust). Once again he reaches out to her to “feed the rain” (their desire) and stay with him, no longer acting out in fear of losing her - and it is the positive change in him that leads her to accept him, to fulfill their destiny and share in that life together. - so, so much more symbolism with the way I did this, in the clips themselves and with the effects, etc. - also, credit goes to stargazerparadox1945, whose technique for short clips I studied and incorporated into a couple of the same areas they did in their vid of this song, in order to make the ultra short clips easier to see (something I have been trying to learn through a lot of trial and error) - also changing things around a bit and adding other effects to make it more my own. : ) Sparkle clips credit - Pond5
