PLEASE READ (lyrics below)- for Alex Brewer, who requested a Poets of the Fall song to any fandom I chose (I decided to go with this song of those we discussed - and the Erik/Christine fandom- hope that’s okay. :) ) – story follows lyrics- (E is singing to C)- Raoul arriving to the theater brings change - as a result, Erik makes changes to protect what is his – and both men in Christine’s life want her to change and/or make a choice. Raoul insists on it, Erik begs her to remember what they have shared and to base her decision on that, later resorting to desperation to keep her with him. Twisted every way and torn between what they offer, all the while remembering the blissful moments she and Erik shared in their music and their love, but not wanting any part of the darkness Erik has embraced, Christine does make choices throughout (showing the past, with PotO and the future with LND)…most clips I used are probably easy to figure how they fit, but here’s a bit of the symbolism - the part toward beginning with them “lying down” from 2004 movie is supposed to symbolize BAMs, and the line “How I wish you’d only see how your own choices make your dream come out shining true, before it can leave you” – at one point I show LND- and go into PotO, to show C remembering how she made a choice she came to regret. (leaving Erik) At end of vid, when C comes back (2004 movie), that is to show BAMs, her returning to him, as she did again later in LND. The end shows that though their dream did come true and was short-lived, the time they shared together was never once regretted by either of them.
