PLEASE READ: (Lyrics below) – It’s epic songs like this one that make vidding such a huge pleasure! :) Watch in HD for best experience...One of my favorites off the CD – and I used my top 3 fave Phantoms- PotO movie, 25th stage, and small bit of London LND (also, a tiny bit from U.K. reboot trailer to better show the chaos for those lines). Story follows lyrics and leads from PotO going into LND. Symbolism: The twinkling stars represent the fairytale Christine allowed herself to believe- at the beginning and mid song (when captivated by him), they surround her, but at beginning she begins to emerge from it, (they no longer cover her face) as she accepts that her angel is a man who deceived her - and is the dangerous Phantom. When song speaks of the Fire – fire clips as well as red flashes are the passion and love they share. The Ice – clips of ice, crystals, etc, signifies the cold jealousy and icy wrath he exerts on the opera house in his deadly revenge. The ice crystals ring surrounding her and closing in shows she is caught in the middle of his vengeful plans. She wants him to let go of the hatred against everyone and just concentrate on her love, but his jealousy over Raoul (for one thing) doesn’t allow that to happen. The brief flashes (not icy/metallic) are enlightenment. It carries through to after POTO, their passionate night together, to then show him escape to Coney Island, where the POV of song also becomes Erik's, when he grabs her, hoping she will find her way back home (to him). The part showing the mob- one before him, one behind, with the fire in his face- symbolizes him hiding in plain sight - they cannot touch him any longer. The fast clips and embraces from then on are mostly their memories of the past that led up to that moment, including a manip I made that fits this (to see the full, visit my account on deviantART), and could signify BAMS (what happened between them after the night of the opera house fire.) The end has them in each other’s arms, leading to the last line of song - going back to beginning of vid and showing her first acceptance of the lie – the twinkling stars (the fairytale of an angel) fading.
