I used a heavy duty flexible shaft (https://a.co/d/dulh3RQ) to attach my portable drill guide to my drill to allow easier use when making a number of repeat or contiguous drilling operations where the piece is to large or bulky for my drill press.
A quick clamp is used to start and stop the drill and a clamp made from scrap keeps the flexible shaft from rotating. I need to improve the tolerances on the scrap clamp a bit more and the shaft can flex and move some when in operation, so be aware. I also plan on replacing the thumbscrew on my Rockler Portable Drill Guide chuck carriage with a handle that can also be used to lock the carriage in place when moving the guide and provide better control when in use in this configuration.
This flexible shaft works well, but it would be nice if one was made more specifically for use with drill guides… just saying. I may get a second shaft to connect to my large drill press.
