My second bowl, turned green during a class at Mann Tool and Supply, Inc in Columbia, SC in August of 2021. Let it sit and dry till now (April 2023), sanded to 600 grit and finished with Waterlox Sealer and Finish, then Ack’s abrasive paste and carnauba wax. Not certain what the wood is, but smelled faintly of fabric softener - only while sanding?!?

$Turned Rosewood Bud Vase Small rosewood bowl blank, cut in half to expose more ‘decorative’ features. Turned to leave two sides flat. Heat fractures showed up along grain lines while coring - filled with black Starbond CA glue. Sanded to 600 grit and finished with three coats of shellac. Cleaned up with Beall buffing system with Tripoli and white diamond compounds, then finally Ack’s Carnuba Polishing Paste. Final dimensions - 5-5/8 inches tall, 2-3/4 inches at widest, 4-9/32 inches deep inside.$
