Zebra pen (F-701) and mechanical pencil (M-701) with turned black walnut (I have a separate video on how to do this).
I used my Wood Lathe Router Jig (another video of mine) to shape the hexagon faces (and another video for hexagonal pens) on each and my laser to etch an inch and a centimeter ruler on two of the faces. I also used the laser to cutout the space for the spirit bubbles on a third face and then drilled out the steel and plastic tubes of the pen to match. Filed, sanded, and cleaned up the cutout. Finished the wood with Starbond CA glue and polished to 6000 grit. Inserted the spirit bubbles using a waxed wooden dowel inside the pen and hot melt glue to set them in place (set on top of another level to match).
I’ll be trying this with a lighter wood next so the rulers show up better.
