I start by heading to the objective, and we're told to seek out Mai, who is waiting by another objective marker for us.
Volo appears and takes us to Cogita who gives us our next mission.
Head to the three lakes for trials.
Before you depart, both Irida and Adaman appear and you can choose who to team up with. Who you team up with determines which of the Sinnoh duo you're able to encounter and catch before the game wraps up. The choice isn't super important, Garchomp is arguably better than either - but I pick to follow Irida so I can catch Palkia, which offers better type coverage from STAB alone.
Then its time to head off to the three lakes, which I've already discovered thanks to exploration.
Lake Verity is in the Obsidian Fieldlands.
Head inside to face an Alpha Hisuian Goodra, which Garchomp handily defeats. Mesprit will appear and question you, testing you on Emotional response. Answer the questions to receive Mesprit's Plume, the first of three items needed for the Red Chain. Head back to Cogita's for more information.
Next up wer're heading to lake Valor where an Alpha Overqwil awaits. More Garchomp food. Azelf appears and then tests you Willpower. Keep trying to hit it and selecting the option to not give up and after a few times repeating this, you'll receive Azelf's Fang.

Uxie then tests your Pokemon knowledge with reference to the amount of eyes certain Pokemon have.
Combee has 6, Zubat 0, Unown 1, Magneton 3, Dusclops 1.

You'll next be at Solaceon Ruins. The Lake Guardians show up and give you the Red Chain. The next objective is to head to Mount Coronet.
We're to head to the peak to face a Pokemon appearing from the rift. Before I head out, there's a request against a Lucario in the Village, so I mop that up quickly. We're given some healing items as we depart, but stock up on more as needed. On the way to the objective, I encounter an Alpha Electivire near the peak and battle it with Garchomp to weaken it, and capture it.
Head into the cave and face Beni in a battle, which is actually quite close because of type matchups. A Ghost type would have helped for everything after Mismagius. At the foot at the temple Kamado will challenge you, an easier time for my team. The Snorlax was probably the most annoying because of its walling capability and raw power with Giga Impact.
Volo will sell you items after the battle and at the top you'll meet your chosen legendary and the Red Chain activates. Garchomp gets it low enough with one Dragon Claw and Luxray gets the paralysis off. Thanks to the catch rate, the first Ultra Ball gets it, but be prepared to chuck a handful at it. Your chosen legend will speak to the Clan's Representative and tell you that another is coming, your captured Legendary acts as a Guardian, with the other as an aggressor.
Dialga appears from the rift and we're all somehow allowed to flee to the Summit Camp. We're now tasked with obtaining some Origin Ore to aid us in the battle with Dialga, and I wrap the part up, contemplating my final party.
