In this Palworld 1.0 tutorial, I show you how to catch Mimog, the small mimic Pal that looks like a treasure chest but runs away insanely fast the second you touch it, attack it, or scare it.
Mimog is one of the trickier Pals to catch because it does not behave like a normal wild Pal. At first it looks like a chest sitting out in the world, but once you interact with it or hit it, Mimog immediately takes off at ridiculous speed. If you are not ready, it will sprint away like a bullet and you may lose your chance to capture it.
The easiest way to catch Mimog in Palworld 1.0 is to stop it before it gets away. There are two main ways to do that. The first method is to one-shot it or nearly one-shot it with a powerful weapon, like a high-powered Musket, then quickly throw a Pal Sphere. In this video, I use a Musket and a red Pal Sphere to weaken and capture Mimog before it can escape.
The second method is to use a Pal that can stun, freeze, or slow Mimog before it runs off. Electric Pals and Ice Pals are especially useful here because they can lock Mimog down long enough for you to damage it and throw a sphere. If you do not have enough weapon damage to drop it quickly, bringing a Pal with a stun or freeze effect can make the capture much easier.
