Here is how to use the Pal Monitoring Stand to control your workers and improve base efficiency in Palworld 1.0.
The Monitoring Stand lets you assign Pals to specific facilities, disable jobs you do not want them performing, allow flexible workers to choose their own tasks, and change how hard everyone at the base works.
It unlocks at Technology Level 7 and requires:
• 30 Wood
• 10 Stone
FIXED ASSIGNMENT MANAGEMENT
This menu lets you assign a specific Pal directly to a facility.
For example, you can keep:
• A Kindling Pal on a furnace
• A Cooling Pal on a refrigerator
• An Electric Pal on a generator
• A Mining Pal on a quarry
• A Handiwork Pal on an assembly line
• A Pal assigned to a Ranch
Fixed assignments are useful for important facilities that need a permanent worker. However, the assigned Pal may remain idle if that facility runs out of materials or production orders.
Leave flexible workers without a fixed assignment if you want them to automatically choose whichever available task needs attention.
SET WORK PREFERENCES
This menu lets you enable or disable each type of work a Pal can perform, including:
• Kindling
• Watering
• Planting
• Generating Electricity
• Handiwork
• Gathering
• Lumbering
• Mining
• Medicine Production
• Cooling
• Transporting
• Farming
These settings are not numbered priorities. They simply determine which jobs each Pal is allowed to perform.
For example, if a Pal can generate electricity and chop wood, disable Lumbering and leave Generating Electricity active. This prevents it from abandoning your power system to cut down trees.
You can also disable Transporting for your best crafter or disable slower production skills for a Pal you want dedicated to hauling materials.
Cooking and smelting both use Kindling, so Work Preferences cannot prioritize one over the other. Use Fixed Assignment Management to keep a Pal specifically assigned to a furnace.
WORK MODE
The Work Mode menu changes how hard every Pal at the base works.
The available settings are:
• Relaxed Work
• Normal Work
• Hard Work
• Super Hard Work
Harder work can increase production, but it also places more pressure on hunger and SAN.
Overworked Pals may become exhausted, injured, depressed, sick, or less effective. A base using Super Hard Work can eventually produce less than one operating steadily on Normal Work if your recovery systems cannot keep up.
Make sure your base has:
• Good food
• Enough beds
• Hot Springs
• Convenient Feed Boxes
• Short walking routes
• A stocked Medicine Rack
The Medicine Rack allows sick or injured Pals to automatically collect the medicine they need. It must contain the correct treatments before they can use it.
In this Palworld 1.0 tutorial, I cover:
• How to build the Monitoring Stand
• How Fixed Assignments work
• How to assign Pals to specific facilities
• How to let Pals select jobs automatically
• How to enable or disable Work Suitabilities
• How to keep Electric Pals on generators
• How to prioritize smelting over cooking
• How to create dedicated crafters and transporters
• Relaxed, Normal, Hard, and Super Hard Work
• How overworking affects hunger, SAN, and health
• How the Medicine Rack helps injured workers
• Recommended settings for an efficient automated base
The Monitoring Stand can be confusing at first, but it is one of the best tools for stopping your workers from constantly switching jobs and abandoning important production.
It will not fix blocked paths, empty Feed Boxes, or poorly placed facilities, but it can stop your best furnace Pal from abandoning 500 ingots because it suddenly decided to transport three berries.
