October 3, 2013 - There have been many memorable comebacks for the Capitals in the Ovechkin Era, and several of them were authored in large part by the Great 8. From the 4-0 comeback over the Rangers in 2009 and the 2010 "Snowvechkin" Game, to a 3-0 comeback against Tampa in 2015 and more, Alex Ovechkin has played a large part in helping the Caps erase large deficits over the years. In their 2013-14 home opener, things weren't looking good as the Flames held a 4-1 lead over halfway through regulation. But the reigning Hart Trophy winner had other ideas, throwing a huge hit on Ben Street before scoring twice in four minutes to cut the deficit to one and get the Capitals back in the game. In the third period, Ovechkin assisted on the Caps' third unanswered goal to tie the game. The game headed to a shootout, where Ovechkin once again found the back of the net to help Washington complete the comeback win.
