Time for an annoying water lev- wait why are we back at 3-1?

Video Notes:
3-2 marks the first underwater level. Unfortunately, this means I need to swim, a lot. Even with optimal swimming, getting around the level takes several "2 presses". This is where the return pipe becomes useful again. After getting Thudley, we return back to Flipside and replay 3-1 instead of backtracking up the long vertical shaft.

Speaking of Thudley, I now have access to a very useful jump replacement. Initiating a ground pound while on the ground brings Mario into the air completely "2less". This grounded Thudley "jump" doesn't go as high or far as a normal jump, but it's still very useful for this challenge. With Thudley, we can go through 3-1 and the rest of 3-2 without needing to press "2" at all.

2 Presses:
1 - To open the quick menu
2 - To switch to Mario
3 - To swim to a 3D alcove
4 - To swim to a 3D alcove
5 - To swim to a 3D alcove
6 - To swim to a 3D alcove
7 - To swim up a small ledge
8 - To swim up to a pipe
9 - To swim up to a pipe
10 - To swim up to a pipe
11 - To swim to a 3D alcove
12 - To swim to a 3D alcove
13 - To swim to a 3D alcove
14 - To swim to a 3D alcove
15 - To swim to the surface
16 - To swim to the surface
17 - To swim to the surface
18 - To jump to the pipe
19 - To swim to the post
20 - To open the Important Items Menu
21 - To select the Return Pipe
22 - To return to Flipside
23 - To cross the large, underground pit
24 - To save the game
25 - To save the game

Challenge Notes:
This is the Super Paper Mario: 2 Button Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to beat Super Paper Mario while pressing the "2 button" as few times as possible. "Beating" Super Paper Mario requires Mario and the other characters to reach the end credits. Any method is allowed.

What does the "2 button" do?
The "2 button" does all of the following:
-Jump
-Swim
-Answer a multiple-choice prompt
-Open the quick menu
-Select any item in a menu
-Enter passwords

Things that look like they need the "2 button" but can be accomplished with other buttons:
-Progress through dialogue ("1 Button")
-Selecting objects with Tippi ("A Button")
-Ground pounding with Thudley ("1 Button")
-Exiting free fall as Luigi ("1 Button")

Each video is only a segment of the larger run and does not consider individual level high scores. This means that the "2 press" count for the segment may not be the lowest "2 press" count possible if considered in isolation. However, the "2 press" count showcased in the video is the lowest "2 press" count with the full game in mind. This also means that each video should link seamlessly to the next video chronologically (more or less). Because we are looking at the full game, we also count any save prompts that appear after the chapter is over.

If you have any further questions, post them in the comment section and I'll try to get back to you.
